I know them thanks to a guy I know from another forum who joined here but only made a few posts (I'm looking at you, Pikka). So it's basically all his fault that I like them now.

Pearl by Janis Joplin is definitely worth checking out. I've also bought Pirates by Rickie Lee Jones recently and been quite impressed with it. Blue by Joni Mitchell, also sublime.
