I've always wanted to learn how to develop pictures. (Totally off-topic, I know, but I read your first post and was all like "Hey, cool, developing photos!")
It seems like a very cool process, but lord knows I'd probably mess up my pictures the first hundred times. :'D

I agree. Film is wicked expensive. DIY gives you the ability to really control the qualities of the print, but the cost of equipment, chemicals, paper, and film is staggering. They'll pry my film cameras from my cold dead hands, but I really like the 20D.
