Wow, some of these pictures... I'm just amazed. And now I wish I had a professional digicam (I lost my Panasonic Lumix at anime convention *cry*, it took some great pictures the few weeks I owned it, even though it's just point and shoot).
These were taken by me on my trip to California (Del Mar, San Francisco, etc).
(My cousins being silly)
And my favorite scene...
The lighting was just perfect on the beach.

GUESS WHERE I WENT ON VACATION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH!!
(I love my camera - Canon Digital Rebel EOS - but I need more than just the stock lens and I need to learn how to take better pictures.)
edit -- Holy crap, Lise, we both went to the same place for vacation!
Lise:
Heh, good ol' San Francisco. That's a nice picture of the Bridge you took there. It's amazing how low those clouds form- and geez, I remember how extremely COLD it was on the ferry tour around the bay. It brings back memories.
Mm, a Canon Rebel! Very nice. I myself don't have any experience shooting with professional cameras, so I can't give you any tips, except to follow simple rules of photography- here's just an example website, there are plenty http://trem.ca/learning.html. And yes, a replacement lens would be more helpful in the future, but the stock lens should be fine until you get a better feel for how the camera works.
I'm of course assuming that the camera is new!
PS: I used to frequent http://www.photo.net/ during high school when I was interested in photography. They have some real helpful articles and such!
