I recently went out and bought Lifehouse's second album, which is self-titled, and I absolutely love it. However, I'm surprised that it's never been discussed on these boards (to my knowledge).

So, what do you think? Singer is awesome, or sounds like Scott Strapp? Music is awesome, or boring? Singles are awesome, or overplayed? (okay, I'll admit their singles are overplayed, but they're still awesome)

Lifehouse isn't really a pretentious name. They sound more like a modest acoustic pop group to me.

Dull, generic, middle of the road, whiny, just plain abysmal. I can't imagine listening to much worse.

LIFEHOUSE? SHITHOUSE MORE LIKE!

I don't really see how anything about their music is pretentious, really. But, believe what you will, I guess, as long as it's a belief with merit (ie - you've actually heard more than just their radio singles).

i've heard the majority of the album. it's nothing out of the norm.

most the songs are throwaway filler that, granted are quite listenable, but bland and lacking any real flair or originality.

so, same old, same old from a played out corporate machine.

it's like justin timberlake. i have his album and i like 3-4 songs out of the 12-14 that are on there. the majority is just filler so they could put out an album. i admit it. but that doesn't change the fact that those 3 songs are good.

so look at it like that. lifehouse is more mainstream and corporate and these boards are filled with people who love indie rock (myself included).  if you post about something played on mtv or vh1, then you will probably get flack.

Okay, there's just one thing I dislike about that comment. Just one.

Look at my join date & postcount, son. You think I haven't figured out by now that there are people here that love indie rock?
Actually, I lied. There's a second thing: I don't watch either of those TV stations that you mentioned, and I REALLY wish people would stop using them to reference the music that I (and some others) listen to.

Other than that, I really like your comments, mostly because they are primarily devoid of mindless hatred towards the artist. Cheers.
