Good Mogwai album to start out with
coldcut:
So I've been staring at Marten's Mogwai poster for a good 200(?) strips and I figure it's high time I figure out what they sound like. Generally I can figure out a decent starting point through Amazon and the like, but in this case I'm stumped.
Help me QCers, you're my only hope!
MilkmanDan:
To be honest, it's all good, but I'd just get Young Team to startwith. It's a goddamn classic.
TrueNeutral:
I started with Happy Songs for Happy People and that's what I ended with. Not because I don't completely love it, but because I have no money.
Snapman:
Rock Action, their 3rd studio album, is their most accessible, and a good starting point.
Although their best is probably Come On Die Young. It's their most difficult album, and requires a lot of patience, but it works so well as a whole.
Young Team has a few great tracks, but is horribly inconsistant. Happy Songs For Happy People is solid, if unspectacular.
Valrus:
Ok, I have an admission to make: I don't like "Like Herod." Can you guys tell me what justifies its being 11 minutes long? I will then use my superpower of letting other people influence my opinions to realize that I like that song after all. It's foolproof!
