Neko, I would absolutely love to see your ears. Would you post pics? And that is such a bizarre statement and makes me sound super creepy.

I've never really had the urge to stretch my lobes (plus, for some odd reason, my body does not like piercings even if I take care of them obsessively), but I adore looking at them. Plugs are so fucking cool.

Also....

LMFAO

Are you allergic to any metals? When I was younger my piercings would never heal with jewelry in them, so I had to take them out, and then I found out it was because I had a nickel allergy. I really wanted piercings as an adult, so a few years ago I did some research and got my ears pierced at 10g and had them put in glass plugs. I had no problems whatsoever with them healing, though the one ear that had the worst infections when I was younger did take a few weeks longer to fully heal than the other. I've never had an infection with glass, stone, or wood and the only thing that has bothered me has been black o-rings, so if I need o-rings I use the clear instead.

Your body may just not like having foreign objects in it, but it could also be an allergy, which is solved easily enough!

Basically I am being an enabler. :D

Here it is with all steel jewelry. The three piercings are actually in a straight line, but the backs of the jewelry made them sit funny in this pic. The conch is 8g right now, though I'm considering stretching it.

Titanium is a good metal to use for piercings as well. Much less likely to irritate.

Oooooooh, preeety :-)

Linds- to be honest, I'm not sure. I got my lobes pierced when I was younger and never really had a problem with them (even when I wear cheapy stuff), but it seems that anything in a higher gauge doesn't work for whatever reason. I got my nose pierced and it gave me so many issues. It would never stay put and I think I must have gotten it caught on something in my sleep because I remember it tearing a bit to the point where the ring got all wobbly. Plus, I have allergies....so when Spring came along, it was just a huge pain in the ass. It killed me to let that one close up because it was so fucking painful to get done. It hurt worse than any of my tattoos! lol I'm getting a little light headed just thinking about it. I also had a 14g industrial and had some issues with the lower piercing (the top one was totally fine). I thought it might have been because my ears are a little wonky and the bar just didn't sit the way it was supposed to. I felt...tension? I think that's the best way to describe it.

I think it might just be bad luck lol

nekowafer:
Both of those issues can be explained by either incorrect jewelry or a bad piercer. Generally, larger gauges heal with less complications.
