Well, last night, I bought some organic sea salt, and hella cleaned every piercing, except one, with it. The other one I cleaned with mild antibacterial soap.
This morning, my nose is still sore, though not nearly as sensitive, nor swollen. However there is some bloody and crusties on it. I imagine that this is from the essentially sea salt paste I put on it, and it's drawing all the grossness out. My nose feels pretty fantastic.
On my right ear, the one I attempted to put the plug in, but failed, I washed it out with sea salt and soaked it a bit. I cleaned it off well, and tried not sleeping on it. This is the one that hurt the most, and I would say was the grossest. Today, it has very little pain, and that is only when I am using the phone, and even then it is not anything to bother me. There isn't really any signs of a blow out on this ear. I imagine it will be perfectly fine very soon.
For my left ear, I washed with the mild antibacterial soap. This was a test. Everybody tells me to wash out my piercings with antibacterial soap all the time. Infection? Use antibacterial soap. Sore? Antibacterial soap. Just acting weird? Use antibacterial soap. When I got my nipples pierced, I washed them daily with antibacterial soap, and it seemed like they were never going to heal. Eventually, I switched over to just washing them out with sea salt. My aunt told me they would ooze forever, but as soon as I started using the sea salts, they have been fine. So last night I decided I would do a test of soap vs sea salt. My left ear unfortunately is suffering. It is red, and swollen, and all gunky. It hurts like hell, and has all night. I think I know which method my body prefers. I am on my way home now to go give it a sea salt soak.
