So World War 2 isn't history? That was only five years prior to 1950, you know.

My test if this: if, in a typical room full of people, you can mention a historical date and then ask anyone who remembers it when it happened to raise their hand, and nobody responds, then it's history

otherwise, it's recent history.

Ok, just got around to seeing this, and rather enjoyed it. It was very obviously politically charged towards modern day issues, almost coming out and saying "Hey, people in the news media, quit placating the government and grow some balls. You are called the fourth branch of government for a reason!!"  It had good performances and the look of the film was amazing. However the narrative structure wasn't all that tight, and felt a little off. But it got it's message across loud and clear.

Also: On a side note, while standing outside with my movie date, whilst she had a smoke, Andre 3000 of Outkast walked out of the theater behind us. Guess he's a Clooney fan? He was rocking some pretty aweomse overalls, I might add.

i saw it on the first day it came out, and was just blown away. it's quite ominous how relevant it is, in relation to mainstream-united states news media/governmental approval of what's being said, today. i hope freedom of speech maintains protection. seriously.
certainly the way news is analyzed here has evolved alot, but it's mainly preaching-to-the-choir effect. [ie, those who listen to pacifica and/or npr already are aware of the problems here to begin with]

EDIT: i don't want to offend anyone who thinks differently, politically. please respect my thoughts, and i will totally respect yours.
