My Dying Bride - The Crown of Sympathy

I am so on a doom kick right now. Cathedral, Witchfinder General, and MDB have been more or less constantly playing for the past 3 days or so.

I have been listening to the following bands lately, a lot.

*The Ergs! (they wish they could put a record out on SST)
*Hunchback (kinda like a 1950's monster movie, in band form)
*Modern Machines (like the new Replacements/Husker Du)
*Lemuria (they're like if Discount and Jawbreaker and had babies - and the babies kept playing with The Weakerthans)

That last two sounds too good to be true.

Listening to a song called Goodnight by my friend's band (Panic and Theives). He plays some really amazing slow, acoustic, one could even say introspective stuff I've heard in a long while. And his voice! I don't just praise because he's my friend, it's just great music!

Bathory - One Rode to Asa Bay

So bloody epic!

"Just outside the circle of the crowd
One old man did stand
He looked across the waters
And blotted the sun out of his eyes with one hand
And his old eyes could almost see
The dragon ships set sail
And his old ears could almost hear
Men of great numbers call out Oden's hail

And though he did know already
Though he turned face towards sky
And whispered silent words forgotten
Spoken only way up high
Now this house of a foreign God does stand
Now must they leave us alone
Still he heard from somewhere in the woods
Old crow of wisdom say
...people of Asa land, It's only just begun..."

It's been too long since I listened to this album.

"My pants is tight
And my balls is long
My o is itchin
From this camel hair thong
My legs is sweaty
And my mind is too
Skip skiffington
Is the last angry jew
My hands is hairy
And my sight is gone
Because my willys been
Inside your mom
When i was 52 I had 3 balls
I bury living cats inside my walls!"
