The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

Now I know what it is that turns me off The Smiths, the 80's.
Also isn't Mozz's vocals a bit weak on this track in comparison with other Smiths/solo songs?

fucking brilliant

Praeserpium Machinarum, I love that Smiths song. I heared an electronica cover for it once on MTV2's 120 minutes, it was pretty awsome.

Yeah, I think he didn't give one of his best performances there, especially on the "because I haven't got one 'mumble mumble'" bit. But Marr's music, especially the amazing strings he wrote for it pull it through and make it one of my favourites.

Miseratur: That could be Schneider TM's version, called "The Light 3000", which coincidentally is what I'm listening to.

That's also free to download on Schneider TM's site.  I called it in the Favourite Covers thread, I'm consistently amazed that it actually works.

Erlend Øye also sings a haunting version of it (messing up the tune in his inimitable, beautiful way) over a Röyksopp track on his contribution to the 'DJ Kicks' series.

Listening to it now though. Brilliant.

Also, Kai, props for Type O Negative.

First song I've heard that refers to hypnagogia, and it's in a demented take on 80s funk.  :)  I love you, Mr Lidell.
