Best Song Ever

<< < (4/18) > >>

Not An Addict:
A tie between "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson and "Blue Monday" by New Order.

Yup, I'd have said it in a less 'asshole' way though.

Well it was either that or go into my spiel about how 'best' is ridiculously subjective, no-one will ever agree, a million arguments will start, no-one will post one track (not even the thread starter for God's sake), hardly any-one's lists will overlap..

Basically, a serious case of:

Kid Modernist:
Hey guys, I got an idea. If you don't like it don't post here.

Not trying to be a dick, but how does posting here when you think it sucks any better?

Garcin:

So . . . let me get this straight . . . if people don't agree about the best song ever, then the thread is worthless because tastes are subjective?  Also if people have different favorites, then fighting is inevitable?

That's funny, DynamiteKid, because prior to your posts all I saw were interesting, thoughtful responses; mutually respectful despite being quite different.  And I was looking forward to listening to a whole bunch of new music, just because someone on the board said it was their favorite.  Maybe it wouldn't be my favorite -- but at least I would get the opportunity to listen to songs that I might have missed otherwise -- and that I might like!

Guess you're wrong huh? And that's not opinion -- that's fact.  I've got empirical evidence.  Now go away.  Maybe you should go to the wrong thread.  You know, the one for people that are wrong?  Say . . .I bet it would be a big hit if you reposted that graphic, but instead of "fishing for replies", you changed it to "fishing for wrong".

On topic:  Far and away the second Queen of the Night aria in the Magic Flute.  My favorite rendition is by Cristina Deutekom.  Pure magic.

and the arguments and the glaben!

i don't think i have a best song ever. the most played song on my itunes is aphex twin's iz-us, but that isn't the best song ever. nice, though.

question: does a song have to be kinda old to be considered for "best song ever" credentials?
