Fun Stuff > BAND
Local (to you) bands that rock.
Korlin:
Props to a pack of wolves for listing a lot of interesting Leeds bands. I can personally vouch for the sexy goodness of Whores^3, Red Stars Parade, and Cowtown.
Also, I enjoy the sounds of iLIKETRAINS (post-rocky), all my friends are dead (same), The Sunshine Underground (kinda disco indie), and Shut Your Eyes And Burst Into Flames (spazzy).
And the rock of This Et Al too.
I love being in Leeds
QueenHussy:
Wow, so much good local talent, I feel almost overwhelmed.
Here are a couple of bands I'm particularly proud of where I'm from:
Swayze
I know, I know, probably not the best band name in the world, while not actually sounding like The Decemberists, if you  The Decemberists, I'll guarantee you'll dig these guys.
When I listen to them it makes me feel like I’m wrapped up in a cozy blanket.
Dear and Glorious Physician
This band is often described as Talking Heads playing Pixies.
They do quite the excellent job of breaking out of the chorus/verse that is the norm. And with lyrics like "There is no limitation to what can happen" and finishing off a song with a rocking version of "When the saints go marching in", they give me lots of uplift in what can be a dreary world.
Actually I just realized both these guys are on a local label, Arkain Records, which puts out lots of music that is indie/experimental tinged.
Rizzo:
--- Quote from: Nemba ---Hey, you Missed Billy T.K. Junior. Really refreshing, laid back, for once not depressing rock, which is all too rare these days, and shows some optimism for once. And they put on a fantastic live show. They came to my school, which is among the most stupid and apathetic there is, and managed to get even the people here enthusiastic about the music.

Links?
Downloading Pathogen now. By the description I think I'll probably like them.
You folks should seriously check out The Mercy Cage though...

It is a bit good, isn't it? I've been meaning to see Shut Your Eyes... for a while now, I'll have to make more of an effort.
