So Tegan and Sara have been in the news lately: White Stripes covered them at the Keyspan Park show in New York (which may be good or bad depending on your point of view); and they're showing up in all those annoying "indie Canadian invasion" articles.

But what apparently some time between 2000 and 2004 they changed their stylist -- in a big way.  Guess you could say that they went from more of a "niche" look, to one that would probably appeal to a larger audience.

So do you prefer T&S in 2000:

In my eyes it's the 2000 look is mainstream and bland, while the 2004 one is somewhat more original.

Well I would say that they have changed from nasty to a bit odd. Personally I think the 2004 look is more pleasing to the eye..
