Speaking of that, what are the odds that any given obnoxious SOAD fan is also an obnoxious Tool fan?

Kai:
Actually, I'd consider the odds to be quite high. THey both try to seem intelligent, they both apeal to the slightly same demographic.

onewheelwizzard:
I used to absolutely love System of a Down ... now there are only a few songs I like.  Some of their songs are a hell of a lot of fun to listen to, even if they don't break any new ground.  Serj is a hell of a singer, and even if they've gotten significantly less interesting as they've evolved, that doesn't make the older stuff any less cool.  I'll still pull out the self-titled or Toxicity every now and then, and sure, I skip half the tracks, but I'm rockin' out to the other half.  I could fill an entire mix with SOAD tracks, and I'd like the whole CD, even if I didn't listen to it all the time.

Also, the track "Patterns" that Serj did with Tony Iommi is fucking amazing.  If System of a Down always sounded like that, I'd be listening to them all the time.

Valrus:
I don't think it's possible for anyone to convince me that "Fuck the System" isn't a massively fun song.

Storm Rider:
Except that you know... Sony signs their paychecks. You really don't get a much bigger representation of 'The Man' than the fucking Sony Corporation. Especially since Wal-Mart and Microsoft don't own record labels.
