TrueNeutral:
My top five in no particular order,

EElS - Blinking Lights and Other Revelations
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Oasis - Don't Believe The Truth
And last but not least, destroying any indie cred I had moreso than any other previous poster:
Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists

Patrick:
Agreed@Dynamite. Something about "Hoppipolla" makes European winter so much more bearable for me though. And considering I have S.A.D., that's saying somethng. ;)

SpacemanSpiff:
Pretty damn good were:
The Holy Shroud - Ghost Repeaters
The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Into The Moat - The Design
Aereogramme - Seclusion
The Flying Luttenbachers - The Void

Good enough:
Coheed & Cambria - Dear Apollo, I'm Burning Star: Jesus Christ Help Me, That Damn Title Is So Fucking Long: IV
Sigur Rós - Takk

Honorary mentions for rocking my butt off and best Black Sabbath cover ever:
Electric Eel Shock - Beat Me

I expect the following releases to be awesome, but I have yet to listen to them:
The Locust - Safety Second, Body Last
Lightning Bolt -  Hypermagic Mountain
31 Knots - Talk Like Blood
Minus The Bear - Menos El Oso
Ion Dissonance - Solace
Horse the Band - Themechanicalhand

...damn, I really need to buy a lot of albums.

Pelican's new album as well as the split with Mono (who are awesome) might also end up on my list, I have yet to listen to that though and I don't know the band enough to be sure that the album is going to be something I like.

a pack of wolves:

Ion Dissonance - Solace

What? I thought Ion Dissonance split years ago! I'm very pleased to find out I was mistaken.

SpacemanSpiff:
Nope, they released a new album very recently. The reviews I've read so far were pretty good too.
