Looking for music videos...

What the thread title says :) I need to do some sort of graphics assignment on a music video that uses animations, and I'm looking for something "outside the box", but I'm sort of stuck... Any suggestions? The weirder the better, as long as it's animated in one way or another. Thanks!

Well, there's always that White Stripes one with the Lego bits... I forget what it's called.

Fell in Love with A Girl ;)

two of this band Kashmir's videos are animated, it's Surfing the Warm Industry and Rocket Brothers to be exact. Gorillaz's videos would be ideal since the bandmembers are, you know, animations. If stop-motion is okay, then you could take some of the creepy Tool videos, Stinkfist for example.

A personal favourite of mine is Malk de Koijn - Fågt op i Skalle, they are rapping in danish in case you were wondering ;)

I seem to recall that Lambchop's Is A Woman is also animated, you can find it here

Here are a few links to studios who specialise in animated music promo's/commercials which are a bit out of the ordinary. Most of them have their work avaliable to view.

http://www.hellolove.tv/ - I recommend the work by +cruz and Ben Dawkins for examples of "different" animation.

http://www.shynola.com - You may have heard of these before. Check out the video's for QOTSA, Junior Senior, Blur and The Rapture for a variety of different animation techinques. There's rotoscoping, 2D, CG, cut-out and probably more i've forgotten about.

http://www.platesanimation.com/ - Canadian studio who've created CG promos for Mogwai and The Arcade Fire

http://www.theebelinggroup.com/ - Quite a few directors under this group. The video's for Hot Hot Heat and The Flaming Lips are particulary ace.

http://www.airside.co.uk/ - The design collective which also happen to include a half of Lemon Jelly. Vector based, pyschedelia seems to be their forte.

Hope that helps!

Okay great, thanks a lot! Now I have the total opposite of my original problem: which one to choose. Awesome nevertheless.

White Stripes, Gorillaz and most likely Tool too were out of the question, since those are more well-known and therefore already taken by fellow students. I'm a damn procrastinator, I've known this for what might very well be a month, so all the more obvious ones are taken by now. Hence asking for "outside the box" things. But I'm fully satisfied now, thanks! :)

Primus - Southbound Pachyderm is all claymation if that counts. (The song is about endangerment of elephants due to poaching and such)

Beck - E-Pro (Animation with Beck's head like floating around)
