I just realized that the second one reminds me to no small degree of Perry Bible Fellowship..  Which is a good thing.  The style is rather awesome.

Yeah dude, Perry Bible Fellowship is awesome. One of my outmost favorite webcomics ever. I wasn't consciously trying to be similar to him, but after I drew the silhouettes of the people I was thinking to myself "heeeey... that looks like a less voluptuous version of someone's people silhouettes..."

Trees with tentacles are the shiznit.
