I think if you go to the official site you can download a patch that lets you choose where you want to start. I haven't tried it yet but apparently you can skip the tutorial and stay on the island (to build up your creature?) and do the silver scrolls- and there is always a teleport ready- or something like that.
The patch also sorts out a few bugs in later islands and stops worshippers from being as hungry. There are some downsides- the bit where if you do a wood miriacle over a workshop and click really fast so you get loads of wood- doesn't work as well. They also got rid of 'death' everytime someone died (obviously), which was handy before because I tended to sacrifice dead bodies.- Black and White 1 by the way.

Black and White is addictive- but island 3 does suck a bit- especially that monk guy on the hill. For christs sake! You can't see me!

It was a fun game. But the levels we're huge.

Plus once you've done island 3 and you're like "YASSS Finally I got my creature back. The game's fun again!" you get to island 4 where you're creature is like "Actually, fuck you. I'm off to do stuff on my own for this level" and you just have to sit at your village casting the protection spell every two minutes to try and save your temple. Inbetween each casting trying to fly about the Island and complete the level...

Pfft.


I think I might install it again :-)

I really enjoyed the first game until the third island, at which point I got pissed off and stopped playing.

The sequel seems to have a lot better gameplay in terms of managing the villages and that sort of thing, so I'm gonna give it a try when I can finally run it.

but it's a bit short, i finished it in about 3 days

not constant playing obviously
