List any bands that you listen to now because of QC or jeph's RL page.

Because I looked there, I listened to three groups listed there, the album leaf, mogwai and the arcade fire. All great bands and I'd like to thank him for indierectly recommending them.
So thank you man, I'll be listening to Mogwai and Arcade fire over xmas :)

I have to admit, I didn't care for a single one.

This website actualy opened me to a massive amount of music as before with a few exeptions I only listened to 60's and 70's rock. The Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade, Clap your hands say yeah, the new Pornographers, these are the main bands I've started to listen to because of this website.

A lot. Due to my general unwillingness to look at popular music, and my lack of knowledge of music I didn't really find a lot of new artists. I think after finding these forums (and checking out a great deal of the bands on Jeph's RL page) my music collection has almost doubled (and I've found a lot of bands that I like a lot more than the stuff I used to listen to).

The only band I've been inspired to listen to is Mogwai. I knew of pretty much everything else. The forums have done more for me than those two sites have.

Non but he reminded me of The Avalanches. I hadn't listened to that CD for ages.

Well, I am slightly musically retarded - or was, a year or two ago - so I'm always happy to get new music that's actually worth something. Thanks to the comic, I've discovered Modest Mouse, The Unicorns, The New Pornographers and Deerhoof. Yummeh.

Also Arcade Fire from the RL page, I believe, and I'm sure much more I can't think of right now.

The Decemberists I think, though that may have been a combination of the forum and RL. Either way they are definitely one of my favourite bands now :)

I confess there were several bands in the previous music recommendations which I hadn't heard of but loved.  I've ended up buying a lot more music because of this comic.

Also, Mogwai, but I haven't really gotten into them. Yet!

I have yet to actually start listening to anything due to Jeph, as much of it I was already listening to, or planning to at least.  However, in the near future I plan on diving into Mogwai, Architecture in Helinski, The Fiery Furnaces, and The Hold Steady because of this site.

I already listen to Modest Mouse, but so does everyone else.

I got hooked on McLusky thanks to Jeph, and will soon be looking into Iron & Wine and Mogwai; I like what I've heard so far.

I bought "The Moon & Antarctica" by Modest Mouse because of the Recommended Listening page, and that pretty much changed my whole taste in music.  So really, a lot of the music I listen to now is slightly because of Jeph.

Edit:  In other unrelated news, I just noticed today is the day I joined this forum, 2 years ago.  Crazy.

Lets see... so far, Jeph has introduced me to:
-Iron & Wine
-Opeth
-M83
-Architecture in Helsinki
and, of course, Broken Social Scene.

I'd would have listened to more if I could actually -find- most of this stuff, haha.

Hmm... come to think of it, I've heard Ratatat and LCD soundsystem too, but don't actually own a cd.

Architecture in Helsinki. From what I've heard (and all I've heard is their latest, In Case We Die), they're upbeat, electronic-ish indie pop. Very danceable.

Even though I'm the thrid person in the row to list 'em: Broken Social Scene.
Also: Mogwai, M83, and The Flaming Lips and a buncha others. But no need to list 'em all.

QC was definetely a big jump off point into indie and more obscure music. Beforehand I was still rocking out to From Autumn to Ashes.
