I ask because I keep hearing him as David Tennant (when he's not putting on a voice).

--- End quote ---

By heritage, sure, whatever.

--- Quote from: TLT Thomas on 04 Apr 2009, 23:10 ---Jeph, did you have a hand in organizing that wildly successful Webcomics Weekend? If so, how far in advance did y'all start planning for it?

I'm asking this because I recently talked with a webcomicking friend of mine about possibly organizing a similar event in Texas for this fall. He's all gung-ho about the idea, so there is a good chance we may indeed get the ball rolling on this.

--- End quote ---

Not directly. I helped with ideas and the actual physical set-up but most of the planning was Meredith, Rich, and Holly (Tallahassee from Topatoco). Actual planning and setup began about a month prior. It was very chaotic.

--- Quote from: Trollstormur on 05 Apr 2009, 00:18 ---if you house and feed me, I could totally drum for Deathmøle. I'd even learn this mysterious "drum recording" thing you're all talking about. (no, really)

--- End quote ---

The last time I housed someone from the forums for any length of time he smelled up my couch and eventually got run out of town by the cops.

--- Quote from: tlunden on 05 Apr 2009, 17:09 ---Jeph,

Would you rather fight an alligator or a bear? Your only items on hand are a rope, seventeen dollars, and a canteen full of milk.

Also, if you were drinking with Jeffrey Rowland, Randall Munroe, Meredith Gran, and Ryan North, who of that group is most likely to do something incredibly stupid and what would that be?

--- End quote ---

Alligator, no question.

Probably me. Say something stupid I would later regret.

--- Quote from: Zombiedude on 05 Apr 2009, 18:04 ---Did you write Meena out permanently?

--- End quote ---

Sure seems like it, huh?

--- Quote from: QuarterFire on 05 Apr 2009, 18:21 ---Isn't that convenience store with some flickering letters on the corner creepy as hell?

--- End quote ---

cocks

--- Quote from: PantsFTW on 06 Apr 2009, 09:05 ---Jeph, how do you feel about T-Pain?

--- End quote ---

I am glad he finally got to go on a boat

--- Quote from: edwinalink on 06 Apr 2009, 23:17 ---what species do you think would make a better ninja. frogs or flying squirrels?

--- End quote ---

Neither animal is intelligent enough or morphologically suited to be a ninja.

maddness:
Seriously?

raoullefere:
Seriously runs another forum, Maddness. I think.

Hooray! I'm no longer "Beyonce"! I'm, I'm…

I'm "Asleep in the boner patch?"

Oh god. Jeph, when … will … the … hurting … stop?

Raoul remembers the good old days, when he was the German Chancellory Building.

Asleep in the boner patch sounds like an ass load of fun just waiting to happen!

Is it cold in here?:
Hi, Jeph,

A delicate question here.

Beyond the existing forum rule about not nitpicking, what else should we your guests know about appropriate conduct when we're critically discussing a strip, a plot line, or whatever?

"Don't be a dick" is a fine rule but I'm asking for something more specific. I know I've pissed you off before without meaning to, and want to avoid doing it again if possible.

Will posts along the lines of "This didn't work for me" or "That didn't feel realistic" drive you up the wall if they respect that you're committed to doing the best job possible? Is that the key issue, that some people have said that you don't care instead of saying that they didn't like something?

You've always made it clear that you're self-critical (as is every serious artist I know). Is external criticism just hurtful piling-on on top of your self-criticism?

There's probably a lot of us who want to balance an open discussion with being decent to the real person whose passion is creating Questionable Content.
