I seem to remember reading that he axed her because he thought the character was boring in one of the little side panel comments that he does with each comic.

I actually joined mostly to ask this question...
How much time has passed from the point of view of the characters since the strip started? I supposed I could go back and count the days the whole way through, but that would be time-consuming and irritating. I remember that the whole "Marten's mom gives him a week off" took over 100 strips or summat.
