Well according to Kirk this album is going back to 'Jurrasic Metal' eg. Kill 'Em All style. This sounds good to me.

Kirk seems to be the member with the least creative control (for example, Lars cutting out all of his solos for St. Anger), so I wouldn't put money on it just yet. However, maybe since St. Anger is their worst selling album, they realized that even their newer fans won't put up with that kind of shit.
In short, I'm skeptical, but I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised.
