Holy shitballs.

I dunno if a topic has already been made about these guys, but day-umn I have to talk about them. They have one of the most interesting lead singers in music today. He sounds like an operatic Tom Waits, and the keyboards/guitars are mixed wonderfully to make a nice misty backdrop for him.

I'd recommend The Golden River, as it's their more melodic and beautiful album. Plus, it has One in Six Children Will Flee in Boats. Awesome song.

The album after it is called The Folded Palm. It's really cool also, but it's a lot colder and the lead singer exasporates himself when he goes into more Rain Dogs-era Tom Waits territory. Also, it's more catharctic and wierd. It's less about songs than it is about small bursts of energy.

Who's heard of these guys?

I've had them recommended to me.

I shall make the effort to find some stuff now, I think. I'll get back to you.

I have and I had them on my christmas wishlist but it seems they are quite difficult to get hold here in Denmark.

The Folded Palm is quite good. I'll have to try and work through their back catalogue.

Years ago the singer would get all crazy drunk and smash everthing durring live shows. He's not as crazy anymore, why?
