Bands that have grown on you..

Belle & Sebastian. When I first heard Tigermilk I was a bit embarassed by its tweeness, but later it became one of my favorite albums.

Flaming Lips. I thought "She Don't Use Jelly" was a fun song, and I liked the songs in A Priest Driven Ambulance, but it was many years until I realized that my sister's favorite band was one of mine as well. The Soft Bulletin was also hard to get into, as its style was so different from the Lips albums I had heard before, but now it's one of my favorite albums too.

Sonic Youth. I first heard them because of the Suburbia soundtrack, and wasn't very impressed. But I kept finding their albums heavily discounted, so I gave them a chance. I think they're super-excellent now, and I have almost all their albums. I really like their songs in the Suburbia soundtrack now, too.

Now these are all amongst my favorites, except Eels, which still gets me a bid down on occasions.

FUCK THAT TRACK!!! I downloaded the album, listenned to that track and promptly deleted it.
Since then, I've fallen in love with the band through live appearances and streams, but haven't been able to buy/download the album.

It is me. And a big 'Uh..okay' to the comment on it =P

As for the whole Pearl Jam thing; for me anyway, they're a band that takes a while to grow on ya.
