I don't know how Brown Eyed Girl works it to the but-sex, but I know Deep Purple's 'Knocking at Your Back Door' is in fact about the smellier way to finish an evening. Paraphrasing the frontman 'I don't know how a song about anal sex got to be so popular...'.
It was in their "we broke up half a decade ago but now realize we're addicted to at least two of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, so let's get back into making music" phase, which was not quite as good as their "let's make some awesome music'" phase. (Again with the paraphrasing)

I could never call Deep Purple great. But as far as anal sex songs go what about "I wanna be your backdoor man" I mean come on.

Ritchie Blackmore was and is amazing, but that doesn't mean Deep Purple always made awesome music, or that his music always was/is.
Machine Head is an excellent album of theirs, and Burn is amzingly packed full of energetic, powerful, organy, rock. But really, it wasn't till their first line-up mix up that they made decent stuff, but it's just like the rest of the rock of that time, with the afore mentioned albums sticking out. And no one should pretend the band that is deep purple now has anything seriously in common with the old band, pre or post break-up.

It's like saying Don McLean never made awesome music; most of his stuff is just generic folk fitting of the era, but American Pie stands alone as awesome.

Hmmm, I wonder what is meant by CCR's "Lookin Out My Backdoor"?

BLASPHEMY! Deep Purple were incredamazing.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

Organs are probably my favorite keyboard instrument.  Either that or the electric piano.  But I can never decide what kind or organ I like best.  Reed organ, drawbar organ, and the Mellotron (specifically the 'flute' setting) are all top contenders.  Provided you consider the Mellotron an organ.

FYI:  A Mellotron is the first thing you hear in Strawberry Fields Forever.

this isn't about deep purple, but i have the josie and the pussycats soundtrack and i've never seen the movie, but i suppose there is a boyband named dujour; their song is "backdoor lover". i can just imagine kids watching that movie and singing that song.

That band was made up for the movie. Its meant to sound stereotypically boy band bad. But I've never really paid attention to the lyrics, although now you've pointed that out its so glaringly obvious :/

I like the movie though. Rachel Leigh Cook is hawt.
