No it's not. It totally isn't. When you're a member and an invite is required, people suddenly start caring more about their ratios. They want to share more, they DO share more, and it's easier to get music and keep a network going where no one leeches and everyone seeds. It's awesome.

The problem is when there's so few people you either need to have something noone else has, or be among the very first to leech something so that there'll be someone left to seed it for.
