Hey, i was just wondering, does anybody know whether he's really going to go through with this album-for-every-state thing, or not?  I heard today that he wasn't-from Wikipedia, the repository for all knowledge and truth, no less.  Just curious if anybody else knew anything.

I don't think he was every planning to do a whole album for each state.  I read somewhere that he'd joked that Rhode Island might just be a 7-inch single.

I was actually hoping for texas.  i'd like to see what he makes of it, much as it sucks.  but it'd be totally awesome if he did all fifty.

He doesn't have the talent.

His albums are already so long and drawn out and slow. He could make 40 minute good albums, but instead he makes 80 minute bad ones.

I think the official word is that no one really knows, he sorta acts half serious about the whole thing. Fifty albums is a hell of a lot though. His stuff all sucks pre-Illinoise so hopefully he can keep writing good ones.
