well I don't know about that, Photoshop just has more option to make your artwork more realistic as if it has been painted in real life, much like Corel Draw (i think it's called)

Well I use photoshop and don't do 'realistic' work. And I can't get anywhere near the same quality in paint
Lorgan:
MS Paint actually works if you're good with a mouse. before i got photoshop, I did some pretty cool pixelated stuff with paint.

Indeed, I'm pretty sure MSPaint can't anti-alias your linework (in other words, it can't make it look smoothed out). I would expect that the guy who spent 500 hours probably worked in a really huge size with a lot of detail and scaled the image down to make the linework look finer.
Sonet:
MS Paint may not be able to anti-alias your line work for you, but there's nothing stopping you from anti-aliasing it yourself.
Emma:
This is skilled MSpainting.
