Two local bands I like:

This is Deception Point, a punk type band from the Butler area around Pittsburgh. I've seen them a few times, they're pretty good.

And this is LumberGhost. I only heard them once, but I think they're pretty good. They sound kinda like Peter Frampton.

A local band outta Ann Arbor, MI.  One of the best bands Ive heard in a while in terms of range, these guys play everything, typically to much halarity.
