Coroners?

KharBevNor:
To be fair, it was almost certainly a joke group. They might be quite good, as every other joke black metal band I can think of that actually plays black metal (Sportlov, Satan's Penguins, Blackthrone) are pretty ace.

Fuck, I love Blackthrone.

"Panzerfaust Division Blackthrone
Fistfucking the face of you 666 times in a day"

Dead people?

Oh wait, you said living demographic...  umm... pop stars?

I realize the discussion has sort of moved on from there, but on the issue of ideology in music and whether to listen to anything Varg is connected with, I'm a Christian and still listen to Emperor, Darkthrone, Watain, Finntroll, Mayhem, 1349, and assorted other bands that are really really anti-Christian.

I've just sort of learned to appreciate the music on its on merits, though I can't say that I'm always completely comfortable listening to Inno a Satana, even though I don't believe Satan exists except as the evil side of human nature.

This separating music from beliefs and actions of its artists goes for countless other musical styles besides "satanic" metal though, I can listen to bebop without feeling like I need to be a heroin addict.

The Hammered:
I personally don't have much that could be called metal; the only stuff that really comes close is Swans and Lightning Bolt (Don't know if you'd classify Lightning Bolt as metal, though). I'm pretty interested in checking it out more, however.
