GRAD SONGS WHAUGHUAHGH
Kai:
Or even creepier, anything by Psychic TV EVER.
Tago Mago:
Can, "Vitamin C"
Thrillho:
--- Quote from: Kirbo ---Our song was 'Complicated' by Avril Lavigne? That made me lose all faith in humanity.
--- End quote ---
I'd rather have a hot 17 year old singing a crap pop song at me than half of the other things they'd probably suggest...
--- Quote ---I would say Blowin in the Wind by Bob Dylan, Ahead by a Century by The Tragically Hip, My Generation by the Who, We are the Champions by Queen.
--- End quote ---
Aren't those two a bit of a cliche?
Anyway, I'd want it to be something weird if I ended up having to choose something like this. Maybe "Things Have Changed?" by Lucky Nine, partly for the title, partly for the irony of making people's ears bleed instead of making their eyes leak.
Johnny C:
I've narrowed it down to Springsteen's "Glory Days" (ironic but hell if my graduating class will know the difference), Tragically Hip's "Ahead By A Century" (that suggestion was bad-ass, thanks for it) or The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights." Keep the suggestions coming, though, guys.
I'm not going for indie snob grad stuff here - I write for Stylus and therefore contractually have to enjoy pop music. I just want a song that doesn't suck.
Gryff:
--- Quote from: DynamiteKid ---I'm so glad I don't live in America.
--- End quote ---
Agreed. I can't decide what's worse: having your high school years defined by a shitty Avril Lavinge song or having one of your favouite songs soiled into cliche by it being used to define your high school years.
Having said that, 'Glory Days' by Bruce Springsteen would be awesome. I vote for that!
