So, who's going to be getting in on this this year?
Despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I will fail totally, I'm getting in on the ground floor and I'm totally ready to grow an awful, awful neckbeard next month. My goal is to reach the standard that our always dashing Johnny C has set (and maybe get some of that possibly-family resemblance going).
If I remember from my observations of last year, last day of shaving is on the 31st of October and by that point you are to be clean-shaven. After that point and until the 30th of November you basically touch no blade nor electric cutting instrument to your face. Pictures to document the growth I think are expected as are interesting beard designs when it comes time to remove the fur (if you so choose). Obivously though we don't need pictures from every day. Every week will probably be fine.
If anyone has anything to add or correct me on, this is the place to do it. It's also the place for expressions of interest.
GO GO GO!
-
I am so ready for this.
I have been training in the off-season.
-
I'm not shaving!
-
If only to improve my ranking (http://legorobotcomics.com/?id=64), I'll give it a go, though I'm not really hairy enough to develop anything more than oddly dispersed tufts.
-
I am so taking part in this. I will look like a child rapist, but it will be worth it.
-
Do you start with a blank slate on october 31st? I thought it was just 'don't shave in november!'
I will be participating though.
-
Do you start with a blank slate on october 31st? I thought it was just 'don't shave in november!'

I don't think it's an official rule that you have to be clean-shaven on October 31st, but it makes things more interesting. Plus it is easier to gauge your progess that way as well.
-
Though if you already have a beard, there is no reason to shave! You are a better man than the rest of us already.
Quite honestly I don't think I can participate. I have very little beard power and my young and naive age of 17.
-
You must shave October 31 or it is not a Novembeard. Part or the exercise is to gauge one's beard growth and getting a head start kind of defeats the purpose. All participants tend to shave October 31, take a picture and then give periodic status updates.
Personally, I won't be participating. After last year, I simply cannot go through the scratchy annoyance that was anything past a week's worth of neckbeard.
-
I'm in this year! I just don't think that you will even see what little hair I can grow on my face if I take a photo with my webcam.
-
I think I'll participate, it'll be interesting.
-
I wanted to do this but i have been vetoed by a lady.
-
If you let a lady tell you that you cannot grow a rad structure of facial hair for one month, you are weeeeeeeak.
(P.S. I am totally willing to participate for all four days of November I will be around to show my totally invisible ginger-growths.)
-
Not shaving, I've worked too hard and too long for my chin-curtain to just go away. And anyway, the hair on the cheeks is starting to fill in a bit.
-
I'd participate but I've got a strict school that I've got to go to almost every week day of Novemeber. To compensate, I'll probably just do my own thing in December.
-
I'm in. Prepare yourselves for my awful, awful facial hair.
-
I'm in. Prepare yourselves for my awful, awful facial hair.
-
I would quote that again, but then it would be silly.
I cannot grow facial hair for the life of me.
-
I am currently waiting for work to tell me to shave off the admirable start to a beard I have begun to grow. Although it is looking likely I will not have a job soon enough! And then...well I am totally in. I'm going to see how far I can get until I shave on October 31st.
-
I am in.
Patchy, hairy, disease-like moustache and a beard almost worthy half a Sam to follow.
Wait, you can grow facial hair?
Hmm. Never would have known.
-
Eez facial hair, eet eez as fine as silk and the colour of spun gooooold.
-
Well I look forward to it either way. Should be good for a chuckle.
-
But Tommy, yours is always the most impressive and I still can barely believe its real.
-
surely they allow mustaches? grow a handlebar, you know you want to.
-
I'm in, but like others it will be a laughable attempt since I don't have that much facial hair. YET.
-
I'm in.
If I try really really hard I bet I can beat Jens.
-
Weren't you just photoshopping your beard out of all of your pictures anyway?
I'm sorry but I had to say it, its like some angry badger clawing at my brain to make bad jokes.
-
i kind of want jason to do this, since he is the sort of guy that needs to shave twice a day... but i also want him to be able to get a job. and i would like to be able to kiss him without having itchy face. DILEMMA.
-
I not shaved in a week, but was gonna because I will need to go to a job interview soon :(
Will still try to do this though, then at the end I will do the whole shaving it off bit by bit to laugh at different styles before leaving a little square moustache and goose-stepping around the house, might annex the kitchen.
-
if I get around to quitting my job I am in for this but otherwise it will not be able to happen (http://www.chunklet.com/images/upload/6/audio_file/Runnin%27%20With%20The%20Devil.mp3)
-
This is my year.
-
I am pretty sure I may do either the full beard thing or do a Movember thing (ie: just the moustache). Gonna see what the guys at work are doing. Over here Movember is a sponsored thing for prostate cancer research, so it's for a good cause & all that jazz
-
i kind of want jason to do this, since he is the sort of guy that needs to shave twice a day... but i also want him to be able to get a job. and i would like to be able to kiss him without having itchy face. DILEMMA.
It's only really itchy when they are in the stubble stage. Once the beard hair grows out a bit longer you are cleared for good times.
-
i have hyper sensitive skin... jason has always had the little goatee and soul patch thing and it still irritates me a bit. when we first started dating my skin was red and flaking off from the irritation and it took weeks for my skin to sort of get used to it. super gross, i know... but this is why i prefer clean shaven boys!
-
I have to shave my beard to be Chuck Bass for halloween so I guess I will reinitiate beard for November.
-
The other day I looked through my photos and I realised that I was sick of looking like such an asshole all the time.
Please Note - The real reason is that I need to shave on occasion for work-related reasons now.
Tommy, you never look like an asshole with scruff. I do not know how you would ever look like an asshole anyway, but maybe that is just me. And I thought you worked with geologists! Why do they care if you don't shave?
-
I planned to do this with a bunch of friends already. Among them is a boy who can supposedly only grow one sideburn. He is the mighty Uniburn.
-
Wait why does bartending necessitate shaving?
-

This is just your skin naturally rejecting awful facial hair choices! If he grew a proper beard I'm sure there would be no problem at all.
-
Wait why does bartending necessitate shaving?
If you work at a wanky joint like I do it is considered very bad form to turn up lookin' scruffy and they will probably just send me home until I shave.
-
I didn't shave last month and I'll be damned if I shave this month either
(this does not mean I a doing a Novembeard it just means I am lazy)
-
Just as necessity is the mother of invention, laziness is the father of bearditude.
-
A bunch of my friends are doing it for the prostate cancer stuff too. I bet a lot of you with work and stuff, if you get sponsored and tell them what it's for, I bet they'd understand. In fact, a fancy schmancy hotel/bar/etc downtown always does "Bras on Broadway" every year (it is a bra fashion show for raising fundage for breast cancer research) and at the end of Movember they'll have their first ever "Bros on Broadway" as the gala event.
-
"Bros on Broadway"
I'm sorry, but all I am imagining this as:
"sup brah, I'm on broadway, brah. Do you have a dirtbike brah? I love football brah. Hey, hey brah, I got this killer weed, lets get high brah."
-
I probably won't do this since I need to get a job and my mom gets uppity if I don't shave
-
Just as necessity is the mother of invention, laziness is the father of bearditude.
Unfortunately, he's also a deadbeat and won't pay child support.
-
laziness is also the father or one of the worst culinary inventions ever, in-the-bag ramen.Crush the ramen in the bag, open one end, take out the flavor packet and open it, dumping the contents back in the bag, add a little water, and microwave the whole thing, hoping it doesn't spill over. If you're lucky it'll all cook, if you aren't you eat it anyway because you're lazy.
-
And you're out of Cheetos.
And, after looking out the window plaintively for fourteen minutes, you decide you are too depressed again today to go outside and walk the forty-three metres to the convenience store to buy another bag.
And you don't want to miss Antiques Roadshow because by a strange coincidence one of the appraisers met two women with glassware designed by René Lalique within five minutes of each other (this is a very rare occurrence).
And that is your life.
-
i would do this with my legs or armpits or something but honestly, i already kind of never shave them as is.
who has time? not this girl.
-
(totally irrelevant to topic, but ephemere is tania right? why are people suddenly changing their names? it only makes life confusing.)
-
How does one go about it, anyway? Do you just bother a mod until they change it for you or something?
-
You stare at the computer screen, concentrating on your screen-name really hard.
And then you ask an admin.
-
My friends and I tried doing something like this after a pub bet earlier this year and this has helped me decide that I will in no way, not now, not in the foreseeable future take part in this because every morning I woke up looked in the mirror I died a little inside and by the end of the month it was just a question of weather I used the razor on my facefuzz or my wrists first.
(speaking of name changing, if any friendly admin could capitalize the 'a' in my name, that would be super)
-
I would do this but my neckbeard would just be embarassing and patchy. I can't live with that for a month, i can hardly live with it for a week.
-
I grew a mo last year for Movember and earned just over $1,000 for prostate cancer and depression awareness and research.
Earlier this year I grew a goatee that I'm too lazy to shave off and grow back so I'll just be supporting other mo's around the office.

Click the link and join the fun! It started in Australia but spread to the US, UK, Canada, NZ, Spain and Ireland.

(totally irrelevant to topic, but ephemere is tania right? why are people suddenly changing their names? it only makes life confusing.)
sorry! i thought everyone pretty much knew me as tania by now and it got to a point where having my username be anything else other than my name felt really stupid. also i didn't want someone else to take it before me.
if it helps, i will probably never change my avatar.
-
i'm guessing someone's posts got deleted there ^ otherwise shit just isn't makin sense roun' here... :? (EDIT: i'm clearly retarded and didn't notice different users with the same avatar )
but yeah, i mite do this novembeard thing. even though i'm convinced that i must have had a face transplant with a 6 year old and somehow forgotten about it, because my facial hair growing ability is woefully bad... i tried to get my mate to join the fun, and his response was "it'd include a moustache right? chicks don't dig moustaches, and i dig chicks. so, no." despite this being a legitimate concern, i'll probably still go for it.
-
Take another, careful look and you might get it. It'll be worth it, trust me.
-
Alex C/Whipstich is lying. It's not really that worth it.

If anyone needs convincing that this is a good idea...
-
#2, dudes.
That is all you need to know.
-
I can speak from experience that that doesn't actually happen.
-
It works for me if you have a good beard.
-
But you haven't had a really long one, have you? My friend Bryce basically has long flowing golden face locks, it's mesmerizing and every time I see him there's a girl with anime eyes trying not to touch it.
-
Hell, I gravitate towards a rockin' beard.
-
if anyone needed any reasons to grow a beard
http://www.biggerbetterbeards.org/ (http://www.biggerbetterbeards.org/)
-
did you just miss the post five (didn't count) posts up?
Question for the guys: proper beard, how long does it take to grow a full one if you're actually capable of growing a full beard? cause I get discouraged pretty easily, and I just want to know what it would require. (girls can answer too if they have answers...)
-
YES I DID
-
Shane told me I should do Novembeard, because "You've got a bit of beard going on there, you could do it."
I told him that this pathetic 1cm growth was a 2-month effort, and we just laughed.
-

It depends wildly on your genetics and what you mean by "full beard". I'm going to assume you mean facial hair at a length that clearly isn't just stubble and looks okay (i.e. an even covering).
I have friends who can grow such a beard in 3 days. For mine it took 3 weeks to look reasonable and another 3 to thicken up (i.e. the slow growing hairs growing as long as the trimmed fast growing hairs). I also have friends who can't grow a beard at all (mostly Asians and girls).
-
Dawg, clearly you are one of these Scientists we keep hearing about. I expect you'll soon be teaching my kids about how cavemen didn't hunt stegosauruses for dinner! What the fuck, man? What's next, that whole "we are descended from monkeys" crap?
Beards have absolutely nothing to do with genetics. It is all about how much mojo you have in your nuts. It is about how much of a MAN you are. We judge your manliness based on your ability to will onto your face a more magnificent beard than your competitors in the span of a month.
How much of a man are you?
-
How much of a man are you?
Man enough to be too lazy to shave my beard off and grow a new one next month.
Man enough to be happy donating to charity for other men to go through the horrible not-stubble/not-beard phase for me.
Man enough not to be worried whether this is considered man enough by anyone else.
-
Actually that last question was kind of generalised, so that lots of people could make broad and self-important statements bragging about the size of their dicks. You know, like a campaign or an advertising slogan. But good show!
-
Everybody knows you have the biggest dick anyway.
-
Shane told me I should do Novembeard, because "You've got a bit of beard going on there, you could do it."
I told him that this pathetic 1cm growth was a 2-month effort, and we just laughed.
was it even 1 cm? it was more like... a few patches of fuzz.
-
Oh wow, for a second there I thought we were still talking about dick sizes.
-
I told you guys the A's were the best team.
-
As we count down to Novemrbeard, I will be shaving a chunk of my beard every day and giving you pictures to psyche your mind.
-
keep your beard like that. screw novembeard.
or just shave it like that afterwards.
-
Man, what the crap? I didn't realize until JUST THIS MOMENT that animal ghosts=keiffer. Either you're being really nice or I'm just not paying any attention.
-
Let's call him Koeffer.
-
the chest hair's a dead give away.
-
Regardless of his name, he bears an uncanny resemblance to The Hoff.
-
I've always been a fan of the Chester A Arthur.

You look too neat to look like a hick.
-
No man you got it all wrong, that's his Sunday best.
-
Yeah man you look like a sketch comedy actor trying to play a hick.
-
That shirt looks really soft.
-
He looks like Jimbo --dude, if you need an obscure-ish Halloween costume, that is -it-.
-
Oh shit, normally I'd be slightly-but-silently annoyed at comic references in the forum, but she's totally right.
-
I know, right? I wouldn't have brought it up if it weren't true!
-
Look it is today!

-
Guys Koeffer is winning and it isn't even November yet.
-
Oh man, I was totally expecting to see a little Hitler-esque mustache goin' on on the last day...silly me.
-
It is the 31st!
beard, GO!
-
This month I am growing a mustache for a play that I am in, so this is rather serendipitous. No beard, though, so I'm only halfway participating.
-
(http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/849/dsc00003ns0.jpg)
Clean shaven, in a slightly grubby mirror. The razor is locked away.
-
Man I am kind of too lazy to take a "before" picture but pretty much in all pictures of me I am clean shaven so it doesn't matter. I shaved before I went out last night and am ready to look like a tool.
Mind you this idea has been so shot down by the lady but I am doing it for the solidarity of my gender as well as to assert my manhood.
-
That's right. You show 'er!
Also, I shaved. No, I'm not putting up a picture. I am lazy.
-
I shaved around 8 PM before I went out and I have extra-fine sandpaper on my neck and almost nothing on my cheeks.
-
(http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/5453/picture8pd8.jpg)
That's the latest photo of me with no "beard". Sorry for the blur.
-
I'm not sure I could be more disappointed with how my Novembeard is shaping up.
-
see, jimmy, THAT would be about a fortnight's growth for me, except mine would be more patchy. this is why i shaved yesterday and gave up!
-
let (http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/8111/img2425640x480tn4.jpg) us (http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/9040/img2434640x480za5.jpg) do (http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/482/img2436640x480zq1.jpg) doing this (http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/8778/img2451640x480nj6.jpg)
uh... hi again guys, i guess.
-
So this is what I've been doing for week one.
This is a better view of what I've been doing.
My dad says I am growing face hair faster than he does, so I can't be doing that badly. It probably should be more than this though, my uncle had a beard in like, 8th grade (I swear to god this is no exaggeration.)
-
Sean can grow facial hair! This is so weird guys, you have no idea.
-
I took a picture yesterday, but you can't really see anything because I took it with my webcam. I'm about as far as Sean, though. Which is kind of depressing because I'm 4 (?) years older, I think.
-
Well, I'm happy. If I compare myself to Sean, I'm growing it faster than him, and I'm 2 years younger. Also, I have more neckbeard too. I'll try to put up a photo tonight.
-
Man, when did all the people capable of growing beards stop frequenting this forum? I'm not even playing and I've still grown more beard than most of you in the last week.
-
I have a bit of a beard, probably going to shave it soon because I just totally don't care about novembeard this year.
-
I came into this thread to kill everyone's fun because my name is Buzz Killingsworth.
-
(http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1868/dsc00008zb1.jpg)
Novembeard status: weak.
Lady: still adamant.
I might forge a respectable chinstrap by the end of the month i guess?
-
Peet somehow I knew you would not really be capable of growing real facial hair. It is okay.
-
Man, when did all the people capable of growing beards stop frequenting this forum? I'm not even playing and I've still grown more beard than most of you in the last week.
I had some decent growth, but I shaved. It was surprisingly even, although it is kinda hard to tell with me since my facial hair grows in kind of gingery, although you wouldn't know it from my hair color. It's the Irish in me, I guess.
-
(http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e120/Darklinkeus/Photo4-1.jpg)
Status: kind of okay? Better than expected but still patchy and gross on the cheeks. Morbid curiosity demands I stay the course!
-
And once again, Sam has emasculated the whole lot of you.
That is in a dark area from multiple feet away.
Bravo, Sam.
-
Hey, at least I'm trying. And actually posting pictures.
-
I know I say this all the time, but I love Sam SO MUCH. Real talk.
Also, Katzy, grow yr beard. Do it. It's internet tradition. Don't make the internet all sad and shit.
-
I have wicked awesome chops that are more beardlike then uh. Train of thought derailed got to go to work. This is what I get for having Red Bull, Dots and V8 for breakfest.
-
I came into this thread to kill everyone's fun because my name is Buzz Killingsworth.
You just made a Family Guy joke.
Julia I dunno I am kind of thinking maybe the internet doesn't need to totally run my life anymore?
-
I would do this except neck beards are ugly things. I have to shave every 3 days otherwise I look like someone who thinks an awesome weekend is spent rewriting Linux kernels and going to a cosplay convention dressed as the Tron guy. As a concession, I won't trim my goatee or sideburns and see where that gets me.
-
I'm making an attempt! So I have no camera and got a haircut and trim of everything today but the sideburns I'd been sporting had complete strangers at work frequently calling me Elvis. They and my hair had gone wild since this May so yeah, six months > just one unless using bizarro world maths and numbers.
-
hiiii ray
-
I had a shave on November 6th because of a job interview.
Since then I've been running to catch up. Also, I'll probably not stop at the end of Movember but return home with a glorious super-beard sometime in March.
-
My beard-fu is weak right now. But judging by my family, I'll be able to grow a full beard in just a couple of years. (apparently my dad didn't really get thick facial hair growth until he was 20)
-
Lucky guy.
-
RAAAAAAY
-
Hello again!! Im going to have to find a way to upload pictures. Wish I had taken some before it went chop though. I think my hair was at the longest it's been, standing (when it would actually defy gravity at least) some 4 in. in a fro-like manner up. And my sideburns would have made Elvis and Neil Youngs sideburns weep and admit defeat.
-
Day 13 of awful, no good, very bad facial hair growth:
Very tired, with cat. (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/2703/meandcatbd7.jpg)
My best friend pretty much hates it and she's pretty persuasive about such things, so I might drop out early. It's really not coming in at all, anyway.
-
Oh come on, don't be a pansy. Man up! You can do it!
-
She said mean things! Mean things! :(
Plus, it's all itchy all of a sudden.
-
John I will be super nice to you if you keep going with the beard!
-
Give up, John. There is no hope.
-
FUCK YOU I'M DOIN IT
-
My beard is awesome, guys, did you see it? Did you?

URGENT NEWS ATTENTION ATTENZIONE ACHTUNG
It has recently occurred to me that there are two movements in which people are encouraged to change their appearance ostensibly for charitable causes. The first is the Movember that has been discussed in this thread, in which men are encouraged to grow mustaches for research and promotion of "men's health issues." The second is "Shave for a Cure" in which people are encouraged to shave their heads for Cancer research.
Taken on their own these two seemingly unrelated projects appear to be novel, interesting, popular and innovative ways of raising awareness and soliciting funds towards the betterment of mankind. But I am able to read between the lines, and bring to you, the concerned citizen the INDISPUTABLE TRUTH about the HIDDEN LIES and SECRET CONSPIRACY that lies at the heart of these so-called "charity events."
Movember and Shave for a Cure are tools of the Left-Wing Secret Homosexual Lobby Agenda® to turn the entire world Gay and thus bring civilisation and family values as we know it to an end.
AND HERE IS THE PROOF

I'm tempted to just try and go for a managed beard (I'm going to shave the neck, I don't care what the rules are, I'd just look weird with a neckbeard), even though it's already been two weeks. Would this be considered against the rules/a slight upon the Novembeard tradition?
-
I feel like it would be but two of my friends have already done this. Neckbears are also a pretty unholy thing, so I really can't blame a dude for chopping of his neckbeard. If you can bear it you should keep it but if you absolutely cannot I think it is okay.
-
Well I mean, you can grow a beard if you want. But unless the facial hair growth was allowed to begin November 1st, it's not really a Novembeard. It's just regular type.
-
I haven't trimmed my goatee all month...but apparently that doesn't count. Shucks. I will still try to see the non-neck-beard through, though.
-
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
My boss just told me "trim your beard or perish"
-
You should refuse to trim that man's beard.
What an odd ultimatum to give.
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/todesfuesch/novembeard002.jpg)
Can you see anything? It's so fucking depressing.
But I won't give up!
-
You should refuse to trim that man's beard.
What an odd ultimatum to give.
Sorry, said that wrong. It is fixed so it makes sense and is not creepy
-
Hmm. We're not the only ones doing this. Or should I say, they're not. I can't grow facial hair for crap and even if I could, you couldn't see it. Damn gingervitis. But yeah, the entire Drama Club is doing a No Shave November thing. They look rather scraggly.
-
We're not the only ones doing this.
Um, duh? Did you miss the part where this is actually a charity event in Oz?
And also, we do not know who your Drama Club is, but seeing as how they are not the only drama club in the world ever AND we don't know any of them or even who they are by name or reputation, we probably don't care.
-
yeah man fuck you for mentioning that you knew people participating in no-shave november in the no-shave november thread, who do you think you are anyway
just FUCK RIGHT OFF
-
Man i was not telling him to fuck off, I was saying I am not sure anyone knows who "the entire Drama Club" is, and since there are lots of drama clubs, potentially more than one per school, like mine, and thousands of colleges and universities and hundreds of thousands of high schools, either of which he could be talking about, or a completely non-scholastic drama club altogether, which we would be even less likely to know about, it is a rather poor generalisation. You know, as opposed to Australia, since I am pretty sure that is pretty big and there is only one.
Mostly I got from the tone of the post that Midnight Umbreon seems to find it novel that, even though we are talking about this on the internet, and we have even mentioned that this happens in real life with people not on the internet, s/he has discovered that people engage in Novembeard activites not on the internet! Crazy!
-
Tommy beat me; but I was about to say "keep your hair on".
Er... oops.
-
I was simply musing out loud. I was under the impression that it was something that the Drama Club made up. Silly me for thinking something incredibly stupid like that. I really was thinking there for a while that you who I have never seen in real life would know everyone in the Drama Club at my school.
And yes, in fact, I did miss the fact that this was a charity event.
-
Beards, people. Beards.
-
For the record, I completely missed the part about this being an actual charity event in Oz.
-
First: Alex, are you doing blue steel in your av?
Second: I complimented a sweet mustache the other day, because it was a very good mustache. Two days later I see the wearer of the mustache on the cover of the local alt paper. It is there (http://www.hpr1.com).
-
My neard / goatee was givin' me guff, getting all itchy, it felt like it was choking my face. Then calenlass clued me in on a tip - hair conditioner. It's so simple! My face feels better, but it also smells like apples, now.
-
Man if I did that my beard would smell minty
-
First: Alex, are you doing blue steel in your av?
You know what I simultaneously love and hate most about pop culture? The fact I know exactly what you are talking about despite having never seen Zoolander. I have to admit though, I nearly spit take all over my monitor when I read that. Also, I still can't decide if I should feel ridiculous or not now. Thanks YAYA week!
-
Yes feel ridiculous! It is a good thing. (it is my favorite Ben Stiller role after Tony Perkis Jr from Heavyweights) In mine I have no tongue, so I'm guessing an inadvertent Blue Steel is slightly less ridiculous. Maybe.
-
No, I'm thinking Blue Steel definitely wins out.
-
Man if I did that my beard would smell minty
Mine too. The conditioner I use has kind of a mint scent to it, but it really does help. I still refuse to have a neckbeard, but conditioning my beard practically eliminates itchiness.
-

Every once in a while I will put conditioner on my hair when it is dry instead of the way they tell you to use it, and then I leave it in for like... well, supposed to be like half an hour but it usually ends up being longer, and then rinse it out. It might help (if you can stand it) if you are suffering from really horrific itching, maybe. Just a thought.
-
Alright, so I know I didn't give a picture of myself clean-shaven, and I know I am starting late, but here is my beard 9 days after shaving the non-beardy parts. My camera is pretty terrible at being a camera, it was 50$ 7 years ago and is shit at auto-focusing. Plus I have shaky hands.
-
alrighty. so, i haven't been here a while, but i decided i would participate in no shave november. i don't have a clean shaven picture of me but it has taken all month to get to this point.
incidentally, my work makes me shave the neckbeard. which is good!
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/todesfuesch/novembeard003.jpg)
I'm glad it's over soon, to be honest.
-
Coreh! What is up home slice
-
Man negative creep you are a good looking dude but you should never do that again.
-
I know! Well, maybe next year I'll be able to grow a decent beard.
Wait, who am I kidding, that'll probably take untill I'm 30.
-
The beard has actually turned out kind of okay.
Please ignore the rest of my disgusting face
-
Can do, sir.
(tee hee)
-
Thanks.
-
penis
-
I mean uh whoops that's never happened to me before honest uh I don't know what's up uh hey yeah um
-
It's okay, it happens to the best of us.
-
I am not the best of us.
-
Why do we got to act like dicks to each other for no readily apparent reason, huh? We don't got to jump down each other's throats every time anyone says anything which isn't exactly in line with the forum general consensus. We don't have to carry over grievances from other threads. We don't have to highlight hostility with more hostility. It's just the internet. No need for all these little pissing contests all the goshdarned time. Everyone chill out!
This post and others like it was brought to you by refreshing, relaxing Codeine.
WHO DIED AND MADE YOU KING
FUCK YOU ASSHOLE

This is after two weeks, and the thickest it's going to get. Unfortunately I'm not much for solidarity, my mother is demanding I remove it for Thanksgiving with the family.
Man, that's not a good picture of it, it looked twice as thick before I uploaded it. Damn.
-
I had someone yesterday tell me to shave. My facial hair isn't that impressive. And I told her "I can't shave, it's Novembeard."
"Whats that"
"Its where you don't shave for the entire month of November"
"So why don't you shave?"
"Because its still November"
I like my scruff but it's so terrible, I look like shaggy. (the scooby doo, not the rapper)
-
November is basically over, and what have we to show for it?
Looking over this thread, I would say that almost everyone failed horribly.
-
That's because I haven't posted pictures of my leg hair yet.
(Guys it is disgusting.)
-
I did better than I thought I would for only 2 weeks.
-

I had this conversation yesterday with someone.
Is what november has given me. I'm not sure how I feel about it. However, this is much better than last year's novembeard.
-
Staedler, that is a pretty good effort. It's a bit patchy but I think with some more bearding time it could maybe turn out well.
-
Yeah, I was about to say the same. A bit more time so it's less patchy, and trim it so it's even, and I think it would look great.
-
Guys if Liz beats you with leg hairs then you are bad at beard.
(I did not participate in Novembeard, so I probably cannot talk. My profile pic is a month or so of beard, though. With trimmings.)
-
supersheep, your month or so of beard is impressive and neat. I'm jealous.
I want to say that mine looks patchy because of my camera, but actually it's hiding a sizeable patch quite well, so I'm happy. I'm thinking of leaving it on for another week or so just so see where it goes (read: my razor is broken, damnit). I'm glad it (the thing on my neck) has some approval, I've been getting a lot of 'so when are you shaving' lately.
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/todesfuesch/novembeard004.jpg)
Well, that's it. Last picture. Excuse the eyes, i just crawled out of bed.
-
supersheep, your month or so of beard is impressive and neat. I'm jealous.
Oh that's with trimming. If I could grow that neat a beard just by sheer force of will I'd be dancing. Also it might be closer to five weeks, I'm not really sure.
-
(http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e120/Darklinkeus/Photo4-2.jpg)
So that is it. One month of unperturbed face-scruff growth.
As you can see, it comes with matching patches of stupid on either side:
Soon: actual grooming.
-
So this what I have done. (ugh this photo is awful oh well)
I do not think I have done a good thing.
-
Oh Sean.
-
Guys, next Movember, can I wear a mustache all month for charity?
-
Now that this month is over, do the right thing
(http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/74/thorbeardkn5.jpg)
-
Ok so this is basically all I was able to come up with after 4 weeks.
Minus the neckbeard:
Chinstrap ahoy!
Ahhhh, much better.

That Thor picture pisses me off a little because they are actually two different incarnations of Thor, not a single entity. The former is the Thor of the eighties, who inhabited the body of Eric Masterson, the latter is the original Thor, Donald Blake (Who never had a beard, to the best of my recollection).
-
nobody cares except for you
-
(http://members.shaw.ca/ve7qsa/DSCF1334w.jpg)
so the question is to shave or not to shave
-
Shave, too patchy still.
-
nobody cares except for you
Yes, I acknowledge that and it's kind of the point, but thanks for the valuable insight!
-
Depends which Thor. Eric Masterson would take me to school, but I bet I could outbeard Donald Blake Thor.
-
Okay, so I've got pictures and I will upload them at some point in the future.

He stares into my soul.
-
Quick, does Tommy have a weird looking walking stick?
-
Everyone take note
That is a real man-beard
-
egads, I'm more focused on the chest-hair. Tommy, does it really reach that far up?
-
Nothing could separate the chest hair and the beard hair. Their love was too strong!
-
That's how it is with me, man. Can only unbutton the top button.
-
I cannot post my weak attempt at facial hair after what tommy has shown us.
-
don't be too jealous, the ability to grow facial hair was just part of the job description for being a full-time pervert
-
My beard is not as good as tommy's, but is decent.
-
Jesus, Tommy, get off his back. It's not Sam's fault he's more of a man than the rest of us.
-
Sam.
Sam.
How long before it is legal to hit on you?
-
ha ha i can hit on him
hey sam
-
Ladies....I hear it tickles
-
If by tickles you mean rubs up yr face, then you're right!
Sam, you are such a handsome boy. I like your haircut. Very nice.
-
The only bad thing about a beard is when the mustache hairs do their own thing and when you're kissing they find a way up your nose. That is the ultimate beard tickle
-
You have no idea the suffering of the bearded during sex.
-
I'm intrigued. I'd assume a beard would get annoying when a dude goes down on a lady, but actual sex?
-
Dang guys, my new boy has a beard. I feel I need all of the info on this I can get.
-
I'm intrigued. I'd assume a beard would get annoying when a dude goes down on a lady, but actual sex?
Mostly it is this. You do not understand unpleasantness until your mustache is completely plastered to your face and crusty due to a solid soaking in lady liquids.
During actual sex, mostly it is just increased facial sweatiness that is the flaw.
-
Amish guys do it up right.

My beard is getting awesome
-
No such thing.
-
I had ginger patches in mine, it freaked me out so I shaved it when I got back on the 15th.
-
I haven't shaved since July.

This is a shitty picture but it might give an idea.
Also, I have lots of red in my beard. It's weird but I like it.
-
I look pretty horrible with a beard, even though it grows in thick and fast. One week and I'm shaving.
-
it's 2009 guys. you're a bit late.
-
Yeah, I like the shameless necro of a year-old thread when there's one for this year 8 down from the top of this page.
And of course, by "like" I mean ya'll go fuck yrselves.
-
I was all about the amish quotes tho.
They forgot "The Amish work 1.5 times longer than the rest of us" though. :)
