Punk houses are the best for breakfast. Vegans and punks are deconstructing and re-examining many societal principles, and reconstructing their lives the ways they want them to be. In doing so, they have discovered that breakfast is bitchin' cool.

Just played an employees fest for about 2,000. Sigh, small crowds from here on out. Oh well onto NY tomorrow.
Some guidelines for newer people/reminders for regulars:
- Photos have to include you in it. No posting random funny pictures; that's what the Pointless thread is for. (Thanks to Joe for reminding me about this one)
- If the first thing you do when you join the forum is post in here a lot (ie: more than one photo-post per page) then people might get annoyed with you. Let us get to know you a little first!
- Also, while photodumps are kind of cool if they are about you doing something interesting, please keep it to one or two pics per post.
- Please don't be creepy in this thread. Giving someone a well-intentioned compliment is one thing, but generally bar posting porn being a total sleaze in this thread is the quickest way to get yourself banned.
- No posting of violence-related material such as guns, knives etc in here please.
Yeah, there are a few informal "rules" that have sprung up in response to certain unforeseen problems or situations that weren't foreseen when the original rules were written. Not posting pictures of (real) guns in the picture thread is one, because somebody did just that once and a lot people got a bit freaked out by it.Since then, there has been one poster who started and drove discussions of guns in the Discuss! forum, and again annoyed a lot of people (he got banned in the end).

@Zuccotti Park last weekend being touristavists!
I guess the question is, why do we have that rule? Is it because Jeph doesn't like guns, full stop? Is it because we're worried about glorifying weaponary on a forum that could be accessed by children? Is it because of some American law I don't know about? Personally I find guns disturbing, but I think that's because I'm from the UK and we don't really have them here in the same way so to me, a gun is something alien and terrifying. But that isn't really a reason not to allow someone to post a photo of themselves doing something that is part of their identity.
I'm quite glad I'm not a moderator!

OTOH, she seems pretty lucky. Most SUV encounters don't come out nearly as well. What was she driving?

That sounds really pessimistic
Nothing in music is original anymore. Same with art. Not saying that people aren't creative, but chances are that whatever is "new" references something else and is by no means going to be a new revolution because it's already been done before.
That sounds really pessimistic, but when you're talking about the rules of music, it's all been done. It may sound different, but there's something in it that has been done before.
Yes, it does. But it's also not to say that there isn't new and exciting music being made every day!
Beautiful animals, Paul. The fiance looks like an actor I can't quite place...

I don't think Linds was saying that the Beatles have done everything there is to do. She was just saying that everything is a development from something that has been done before and nothing is totally new. Which I agree with, regardless of your weed grinder percussion.

Wait, she was just reading? I had the impression she was reading aloud (like, doing a reading) while you guys played...
Back in highschool I used to do archery (there is no proper verb form). I was really into it for a few years and my dad got all excited that his bookish, unmanly son was interested in a sport and he bought me a really nice bow and a bunch of gear. Last few weeks I've been getting back into it and the other day I managed to drive down to the Olympic Park and practise with the new gear I'd bought.Nice. (Shame about that one in the black.) I'd wish my dad bought archery gear for me, but I'm more glad he doesn't advocate the stereotypical view of manliness, on account of being a massive nerd - just like me. I did an introduction course to archery once as well, but after the initial lessons were over, the archery club did require you to buy your own bow, which we couldn't afford at that time. Still, I walked away with some good lessons, and it was pretty fun.
demographics of QC readers.
Well it's good to know we're such a diverse bunch, even if it is largely limited to the western sphere (which is to be expected, given that this is an English-language comic). I was just surprised that there weren't more from Asia, Africa and such, considering that QC is likely the largest/most popular/famous webcomic currently running (I realise that this may be wrong, but if so, what IS the most popular webcomic out there?).
Patrick, I didn't know that Varg Vikernes was a SF fan.
...which is why you paint the background first...Eh, regardless of whether the foreground or background goes on first, there still has to be edging to be done.
Women in my workplace, I recall, were often looking down at themselves. At what, I don't think I ever learned, or even asked about.
Sometimes I look down there because cleavage is a pretty good crumb catcher........

I don't want to turn this into the, "I have boobs" thread but every time I come home from the cinema, I find so much popcorn in my bra. I don't know how I don't realize it's there or it dropped at the time.
My dad let me dye my hair green with kool-aid one time while my mom was out of town, but I think I did it wrong because my hair ended up crispy and sour.Maybe you weren't supposed to add sugar?
Funnily enough when I was about 13 I really wanted to die my hair green. Luckily my school and my parents were united in their refusal to allow it.I heard that rubbing colored chalk in your hair makes for a pretty good temporary substitute for actual hair coloring. It's supposed to fall right out after... I dunno, a week? Wasn't paying much attention when my friend was talking about it. She wanted to make her hair blue.

Me at the Georgia Ren Faire:
Chainmail never really went out of fashion... until firearms came into common usage.I wish I could've gone as the Viking (to ravish the wenches, of course  ), but the GA Faire doesn't allow weapons other than swords and daggers :-(
But yeah, the spangen and the viking shield & axe are a little old-school! :-D
Not that most ren-faire consumers would really know... :psyduck:
Aren't spangenhelms and chainmail a little early for renaissance? I thought they'd mostly moved on to plate by then.
:-D
Aren't spangenhelms and chainmail a little early for renaissance? I thought they'd mostly moved on to plate by then.
:-D
I think the people who wear plate (like...real plate armor, not the plastic stuff) at ren fairs are a little crazy, mostly because I think they would be too hot to enjoy anything. Also it's all heavy and stuff, not that chainmail isn't. Though I have seen some guys make really fantastic leather armor and wear it and I am always jealous. Also one dude had a magnificent set of wood armor (he was an elf, not really renaissance, but still cool) that I pined over.
Personally, the things I'll be making for the ren fest will be more medieval, but I do not have skills to make an Elizabethan dress. This (http://butterick.mccall.com/b4827-products-6120.php?page_id=385) I can handle, but this (http://www.simplicity.com/p-1547-costumes.aspx) is way beyond me.
And firearms were coming into more prominent usage right around the middle of the Renaissance time period, I think.

What's in the cage?
Actually! Plate armor that is made to fit the wearer (as all plate armor of the period was) is not as heavy as one would think. It was generally 18-22g steel and had many arming points to relieve the weight.
Chainmail rests solely on the shoulders and generally a belt is worn to help mitigate the weight but plate often weighs less than chain.
I really don't like pics of myself, so here's a pic of something I made. She's 10 months old now! How the hell did that happen, guys?

Not only that, but true plate armour weighs about a third less then the equipment carried by modern soldiers on their back. The modern interpretation of plate armour comes from Hollywood, where they would used Jousting armour, a type that was meant to be heavy and reinforced, as it was supposed to used for safety. Most of whom wore plate were trained to do so from childhood, meaning that they were gradually used to it, as opposed to people who wear nowadays who aren't necessarily used to it. And, there are books and reports of plate being highly mobile, with many knights able to run over significant distances, swim in full armour, as well as performing backflips from a height. Probably singing, that was taken at a cantus, which for those of you who have no idea of the concept is just a bunch of students drinking and singing in a semi-ritualised fashion. It's a pretty interesting phenomenon. It is interesting; I'd never heard of this. It immediately brought to mind Brahm's Academic Festival Overture, and a historic Detroit MI building, the Harmonie Club, which used to house a German ground founded around singing.

Yes, buy the nice cyborg angel lady some ice cream. Maybe then she won't eat your soul. :D
Her wings are awesome (as is the rest of her outfit). Where did she find ones that big? Most I ever see are the ones about 2'-3' wide and about 1' long...
Ah you lose Toba. 8-)
She put that outfit together herself and did have a hand in the wing design.
MackenzieYou are all so lucky. Best to you and your family.
I was teensy- 5 lbs, 6 oz when I was born. Also about a month premature. And apparently I was "quick" to do everything else too. I spoke fairly early and remember my mom telling me that even before I started school, I "read" bedtimes stories instead of her because I memorized them. Of course now, I can't remember crap. :-PFunny, my mom says the exact same thing about me. I had my favorite bedtime story memorized as well, so it was basically me telling them to my mom.
I don't know how old I was when I started walking/talking, I just no my first word was, "No," and I supposedly liked saying it a lot, both for no and yes.
There is just something so wonderful about suspenders when worn the right way.Hee hee... Frank N. Furter would so agree. :-D
I aprove your suspender wearing ways Doombilly.
Black metal ... well, vampire blood, or maybe the blood of a really frisky nun, or something.
For black metal, you need a goat's blood.
Vampire blood would be gothic metal, surely. For black metal, you need a goat's blood. And for viking metal it'd have to be the blood of a Christian.
Anyway, cool shoes. :-D

So you accept the status quo without reporting your employers for breaking the law? Sounds pretty miserable. I've gotten chewed out for accidentally going over my 5th hour on the clock without taking a lunch.
Hungrily Harvesting Harvester. Just across from the house.
Reminds me of the first time I saw a combine, driving out in the MI countryside at night. The machine was approaching the road, perpendicular to it: I saw the headlights, then the gigantic green teeth approaching me and the road. Momentarily scary.

I've spent a silly amount of time looking through everyone else's photos, and enjoying all of them, so I figure it's only fair to share my own. It's a bit of an old one (I've grown my hair out back to my natural brown, but I admit I miss the pink).

Aww, that's really cool! That's the Albanian one, I'm guessing? I always liked double headed eagle motifs, and wondered why they were so common in eastern europe. Turns out (according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-headed_eagle)) they were a symbol of the old Russian empire, passed down from the Byzantine empire - but the symbol's actually older than christianity, it shows up in egyptian tomb art. I like the way this one fills the heraldic shield form.
And the tongues.
Does she look like an actual redhead in real life?
Tried to say it and broke my tongue bone.Wish I had one of those. The other doesn't work like it used to.
Patrick, why would you wear a hat and a crown at the same time? He definitely was right to steal your crown because you were being headgear-greedy. Headgreeardy, you might say. But you probably shouldn't because that word is stupid.
I hate it when artists smash their instruments. Seems ungrateful to the instrument and to the person who made it.

...You weren't at the San Jose/Nashville game on Tuesday, were you?
I like the haircut, but I was disappointed - when I first glanced over the photo, I thought the bit of the mirror over your head was a cat ear. Nonetheless your hair looks great!

Apple Barrel paints do fine. You just have to know how to properly thin them during use.
Re: Paint- I think you can make any paint work if you have a decent brush, but that's not to say I don't have my own preferences. If I'm painting bottles, flower pots, etc., I don't mind Apple Barrel/Folk Art/Craft Smart. With a decent sealant, they're fine. But- I try to avoid putting them anywhere near a canvas. There is absolutely no point using anything above 50SPF sun cream. In fact, it's not legal to sell it in this country because it is misleading
90SPF is no better than 50. If you use 50 properly, it provides 99% protection again UVB, and no sun cream properly protects against UVA anyway so you still need to keep out of the sun. 30 is something like 98% - a negligible difference.
As for sunscreen, wear a hat! And a proper hat, not a baseball cap that doesn't protect your neck, ears, cheekbones etc.
The more appropriate hat for down this way is visible in my pic.

As a general point, though, this forum is not a place to be posting photos that you would be uncomfortable having appear elsewhere. For instance, if you wouldn't post it on Facebook, then don't post it here as we have no control over where things go after they've appeared on this forum. Even if you change your mind and delete the post, the photo might well still be roaming free around the intertubes.

Obviously some aspects of men's and women's bodies are different and require differently-cut clothes, but women's feet, for example, are pretty much exactly the same as men's apart from being slightly smaller on average. Many so-called "women's saddles" sold in bicycle-shops are exactly the same as mens, except for the colour of the cover.

You look alarmingly like my mate's boyfriend.
But you can stop your phone from GPSing you, can't you? I basically do that all the time because I didn't want my location being broadcast anywhere and I assumed it used data, I only turn it on if I'm lost. Or does it keep doing that? You can turn off your GPS, but you can't turn off the tracking via the mobile network and that's enough to give a rough estimate of your geographical position, which then gets embedded in a picture's EXIF data.
Helloooooooooo gorgeous
Love it! :-)
You look alarmingly like my mate's boyfriend.
You also look like my dad.
So guys, remember my beard photo? I think the time to shave may have come. An old feller stopped me at Wawa today while I was grabbing my lunch and asked me about the status of the Northern Maryland and Delaware fishing/crabbing fleets, which company I was with, and what port we sailed out of.
Yeah.
What were you up to in Northern Ontario GM? Not exactly shaving territory at this time of year.
I'm actually an able seaman signed on with the National Underwater Marine Agency. (NUMA).
I'm actually an able seaman

Masterpiece looks good all the time. It's my super power.
I failed the eye contact thing...Well the picture was asking for it.
Beard Status: EPIC
I want to grow a beard once I have the ability, just because I'm losing my hair and I'd like some control over how my face/head looks. In fact once I can grow a beard, I plan on growing it out for a year and keeping my hair at the same length as it, meeting some new people and getting people used to it, then shaving it off one day without telling anyone and seeing if the new people recognise me.
HOW do you get your beard to go all multicolor??!
My boyfriend grew a massive beard over winter as well as not cutting his hair, and in the meantime his job got a new manager. Of course, this manager had only known him as a Kenny Rogers lookalike, so when he cut his hair really short and shaved his beard on the same day, she didn't recognise him at all. Pretty funny.
My beard is sort of a brownish-red, but my moustache is blondHOW do you get your beard to go all multicolor??!
My friend's beard is always multi-color. And it's huge so there's a ton of variety. I can't find a pic with the different colors but look at this majestic thing.
That just sounds awesome.!!
I also find it interesting that several boys I know started life with blond hair and now have dark brown hair.As did I. As a child my hair was so blond, you probably could have seen your reflection in it.
To not identify myself too heavily, I'd like to only briefly mention this one: I once knew someone with a mustache that grew in two different colors. About 2/3 of it was his natural hair color, and the other part was a different color. (I won't specify more than that!)
I also find it interesting that several boys I know started life with blond hair and now have dark brown hair. That's because young offspring of a lot of species usually have a lack of pigments. That's also the reason why some sorts of kittens have blue eyes until a certain age when their natural eye color kicks in.
I also find it interesting that several boys I know started life with blond hair and now have dark brown hair.
I agree entirely. I see Lots of people using their facial hair as a mask; like some sort of security blanket that makes them more masculine than the next guy. I can't get on board with that at all.
This is the photo thread! Post pictures! Is it baby picture time?It is always time for baby pictures!!!To not identify myself too heavily, I'd like to only briefly mention this one: I once knew someone with a mustache that grew in two different colors. About 2/3 of it was his natural hair color, and the other part was a different color. (I won't specify more than that!)
Also, I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot, but why don't you want to identify yourself or say more about this multicolored moustache?
That's right, put that Hockey sewage under a spoiler tag :evil:Fixed.
Hun, you posted a picture of yourself on this very thread. <3That's why it feels pointless to avoid specifying, but my bizarrely placed paranoia won't let me do otherwise!
And it was cute, too. :)Aww, well, thanks. :3 And the one from 2012 looks familiar! And go Preds!!!!

I asked that too. The bar tender looked rather embarassed and said it was pub policy. Since I had my drivers' licence with me and am in fact easily old enough to purchase fruit juice, I just shrugged and got on with it.

This made me laugh far too hard
Welu, that would make perfect sense if it weren't for the fact that under 18s are allowed in pubs in England.
It's illegal to:
Be under 18 and on the premises of somewhere selling alcohol between the hours of midnight and 5am.
In Northern Ireland it's illegal to be in a pub under the age of 18 either unaccompanied, or if it does not have a Children's Certificate or it is after 9pm. (http://www.thesite.org/drinkanddrugs/drinking/responsibledrinking/drinkingandthelaw)

We both wore them yesterday, and here is the result:I realized I didn't mention the cutest part of the story. Fosters is actually manufactured in England, and according to the Australians I know, only tourists drink Fosters in Australia. Fosters are liars!Partially true. Most "Fosters"-branded beer is brewed in the UK, but over here the company owns about half of the macro-breweries (hahn, vb, carlton draught, toohey's etc), most of which are pretty average, but all are still better than 'fosters' itself, which is actually really hard to find in most places (thank god). We've got so many really good craft beers though (and ciders).
I'm just glad more and more ciders are popping up. I didn't realize until the weekend that Ace made a pineapple cider. Stuff tastes like freaking candy.
Also touring breweries is fun. I've been to both Sam Adams and Stone and both were pretty cool.

You handsome devil.
Every time someone on here who I haven't seen before posts a photo it turns out they're attractive. The ratio on this forum is more ridiculous than a London houseparty.

Ahem, I'm Irish with my wrong way round steering wheel.Fair enough, I'm sorry. That doesn't make it less weird, though.
You mean you drive in reverse?
:D ;)
I could break that trend so hard.
Also I was definitely confused by the right side steering wheel at first, Welu. But you look all adorable and stuff.
dude, this forum has always had a ridiculous amount of pretty people. once upon a time, I recall there being a "pics of forumites in underwear" thread, and it nearly broke everything and everyone.

That was the short lived other forum, the name of which I now forget. That didn't happen here.
Eh, honestly bathing suits are no less revealing, yet somehow more socially acceptable. So if you want to share a SFW bathing suit photo, feel free. But only if you want to, of course. Also wait, there was a QC forum before this one?
Not Pocket Jury, and yes we do. This was before my time I think, so like 2007 maybe? I think it was called Aurostion.
At least their not Liederhosen
Underpants are men's underwear. Pants/knickers are women's. Underwear includes bras, socks, pants, tights etc.

I've never heard this distinction.
Pants is just short for underpants as far as I'm concerned, that's what it's always seemed to me anyway.
My favourite bit is the kitty!
I am drinking straight from a porcelain jug of mead right there.
I wear jeans and boxers anyway so this has really never been an issue for me at all...Right. The jeans are the pants, and the boxers are the underpants. Because they go under the pants. How can you call them "underpants" if they don't go under pants?
Confession: I'm a little disappointed nobody's talking about my beard (aside from BroPup's joke and possibly May, although she may have been talking to Masterpiece, can't tell)
Method: keep it - it works well for you.
Patrick, you steamy man
Very nice! You seem to be channeling Oancitizen (http://fav.me/d4nc8bl) a bit.

Adorable as ever, Valdis :)
You're wearing The Skirt!
I'll preface this by saying it seemed like a good idea at the time. Why I took it busking with me, I have no idea.
Well, hate on it as much as you want, but I have a Grand Theft Mario shirt and you don't:(
What, I'm confused. That's not my school, where is it?
Looks like a cross between a fez and a bucket.
Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but it looks more like a chest burster to me >.>;

adult swingsThis sort of talk belongs in the TMI thread
We found a park with swings!
There should be adult swings. I tried to swing last weekend and my hips hurt quite a bit. My bum is too big for swings :(
I may be a skinny boy, but I'm physically bigger than you may realise. I got child-bearing hips. And the swings over here are small as shit.I am willing to bet a lot of money that my ass is bigger than yours. :-D
Can I say pics or it didn't happen? Or does that make me creepy?

Damn it Masterpiece is duckfacing :psyduck: Alas, he couldn't stay perfect forever.Masterpiece is the only human who maintains perfection through a duckface.
I met Patrick today. He has a pic and needs to post it.Is he still alive? He mentioned something to me about how he was going to try and match you, drink for drink :emotrex:

Nice set-up! I'm jealous. You have a Big Muff Pi and I don't..unforutnately, the champ and pedal board are my dad's (I'm looking after their cats), but I take full advantage every time I get a chance, the big muff is mine though, yeah. I'd actually prefer an older one though.

Part of me is incurious about ever seeing Europe, because I love so much where I live.I don't understand this. It's great to love where you live, but that hardly should mean you never want to leave, even on vacation.
I have never heard the word incurious before. Does it actually exist?
I think my main issue with selfies is it takes away the whole "hey, can you take a picture of me" way of making friends...or if not making friends, at least interacting with other people in general.
I hate selfies but only because my camera is shit and I always look extra weird because my eyes are like looking in some dumb direction
I’m definitely pro-selfie. I think that anybody who’s anti-selfie is really just a hater. Because, truthfully, why shouldn’t people take pictures of themselves? When I’m on Instagram and I see that somebody took a picture of themselves, I’m like, ‘Thank you.’ I don’t need to see a picture of the sky, the trees, plants. There’s only one you. I could Google image search ‘the sky’ and I would probably see beautiful images to knock my socks off. But I can’t Google, you know, ‘What does my friend look like today?’ For you to be able to take a picture of yourself that you feel good enough about to share with the world – I think that’s a great thing.
-Ezra Koenig
I'm not against selfies but there are basically none of me because I feel weird taking them. Dunno why.

Absolutely none of me. There aren't even any pics of me online taken by others (AFAIK), since I'm rather camera-shy. I have a rather firm belief that I belong on the other side of the lens, especially now that I'm not young, thin, or pretty.

hedgie, you don't have to be young or thin to be pretty or to take photos of yourself.

Not to annoy or upset anyone that doesn't like themOn the contrary, I think a selfie thread is a wonderful idea.
How tall are you?
6 feet even, assuming I stand up straight.Oh ok, you're the same height as me. When you said you were pretty tall and then mentioned a guy who was well over seven feet, I kind of assumed you were taller than that. (Not seven feet, but like 6'3" or something)
I had one guy at a show get on my about my height. This is a rough approximation of that exchange. Why can't everyone be friends?
"Hah you ain't even six foot! Freakin midget man!"
"Yeah but I could kill you with your own leg then fuck your girlfriend without even bothering to wash the blood off."
"You're fucked up man!"
"And you're apparently a little wimp, and isn't that all that matters in the end? Now beat it before I saw you off at the ankles"
He left. Pretty sure I laid him out in the mosh pit later, but I can't be sure, punch one skinny asshole in leather pants with a mohawk in the temple you've punched them all.
Why can't everyone be friends?

(j/k, congratulations on your fine new steed.)
Good to know; I've been reading the Rivers of London series (I heartily recommend same for fans of urban fantasy, btw), and the protagonist owns and drives a Ford Asbo, which I knew wasn't the actual designation (I do know what an ASBO is), but wasn't sure exactly what kind of Ford it was, other than a smallish cheap one.
No, the Ford ASBO was coined by Top Gear. Jeremy Clarkson used it to descibe a model of Ford Focus that had been released which was updated to fit in with the hot hatch market popular with young drivers, usually male. The particular model supplied to the programme was painted in a bright and garish shade of Orange.
Some opportunist knocked up some layover decals which became briefly popular with the aforementioned young drivers, usually male. A lot of models of Ford's could never be considered an ASBO.
As an aside I do still hold that it is illegal to drive a Mondeo unless at least one part of the bodywork is in some way held on with duct tape.

*Cough* I do have a couple of view cameras, one of which is a rail one with the movements. If you can afford it, it's totally worth it. Not only can you deal with keystoning, but you can really do a lot with selective focus. If I could afford a digital back for my 4"x5" cameras I'd totally do it.No Ravens?Spooky shot. I've thought about a 24mm shift lens (or adapter). I tried fixing the verticals in post and it actually kinda lost something.

I received my share of our Fatfox group buy.
Context: A loosely organised group of people I'm part of (mainly members of an IRC channel about our university), has discovered an amazing series of plush animals, amongst them a very, very round fox, now dubbed Fatfox by us. It has turned into a meme in the IRC channel around a year ago, and now we made another group buy. I finally have my very own fatfoxes! They also introduced a new fatfox with large pupils, dubbed drugfox by us.
Here is my new fatfox family:

What Patrick said. He has a smile like his mother.
Hit a patch of ice as I was accelerating up the hill, which kicked my back end out. No big deal, right? Turn into the skid, pump the brakes, all the proper stuff. Didn't account for a curb outcropping that jumped up and grabbed my right front tire. My buddy commented on how uncanny it was that the truck managed to miss that sign post as I was spin/rolling across the median.I don't have any pictures of it on my computer, but about ten years ago I was in a similar crash. Only ended up with cuts on my hand from broken glass, but the car was smashed. It didn't help that right after the car rolled over, the driver behind me (who had been following too closely given the icy conditions) smashed into the drivers' side and caved it in.
Rolled my truck today.I'm so glad I don't have to ride or drive on ice and snow. Sand blown across the road is the worst I've had to cope with.

I did once fool around with a girl with the same name as my mother :psyduck: luckily I'm not the 'say her name' type.
I'm surprised you got that far, I can't even date a woman who has the same name as my mother, it just feels too damn weird.
I guess I shouldn't have read Oedipus Rex when I was 12...
I know someone who wrote a book called 'In the Absence of Bats'.Gotham City descends into anarchy?

Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin (yesterday).
That pic of city hall looks a bit odd...My educated guess is that it's a panorama photo done on a cell phone. They often look a bit wobbly and disjointed.
You are correct! I kinda like how it came out though.
Meet my new granddaughter, Emily 梅The same character has the same meaning in Chinese, but it's pronounced "May" with a rising inflection, as if you were asking May? as a question. I'm too late to offer the traditional three red-painted eggs, but congratulations!

The Japanese name is pronounced Ume (like Oomé), and means Plum (specifically the Japanese Apricot, which was the traditional blossom to enjoy before the Cherry became prevalent).
Llongyfarchiadau!
only $74,600 USD."only"
2016 Dodge Hellcat SRT. only $74,600 USD. 6.2 Liter V8 engine, generating 707 bhp.Meh... Lardy and slow. For much less money you could have this Kawasaki Ninja H2:
Four wheels good! Two wheels bad!

And three wheels (http://www.3xfranchise.co.uk/uploads/model-images/metropolis-red-4.jpg)?
I think I'd like to try one... but with a wider stance. My sense of balance sucks.Wide-stance trikes behave like the three-wheeled Morgan car. The narrow track trike scooters, like the one PWH linked, are not comparable, because they lean into corners just like a two-wheeler. The three-wheeled stance is just to keep them upright at very low speeds or when stationary:

Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges!
Bumps are okay usually as long as they're relevant. Hazard of a small community is that certain threads can fizzle out easily.
Nice photo and hair!
