I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. We have gone through cruises, Europe, a rad road trip up to Oregon, and all sorts of stuff and everything is freaking against us.
So I am taking suggestions.
GO.
-
Do you want an active-doing-stuff-in-interesting-places type of honeymoon or a luxurious-staying-indoors-and-having-lots-of-sex type of honeymoon? Or a combination of the two?
-
Well the road trip was the most exciting honeymoon we'd come up with so I think we're more the adventure-y type, but not outdoors-y adventure-y.
-
I'm currently planning my honeymoon as well. We decided on the Virgin Islands for a few reasons. First being that tickets are inexpensive ($350 or so each from Detroit), and the flight isn't too long 6-8 hours, then there are 3 islands with one being 75% or so natural park so lots of hiking + snorkeling and the like. Finally, its an american protectorate or something like that, so we get to go somewhere tropical but not have to worry bout passports or money exchange.

GROUP HONEYMOOOOON
-
Go to Australia. I hear the ladies there are like super hot.
Oh wait. Uh. I hear the reefs are really pretty.
-
Double date honeymoon with forumites?
So freaking epic.
-
Come to Australia, you might accidentally get killed. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNEeq5qGh8I)
-
Come to Canada, see the Olympics.
-
Good luck getting tickets.
-
Go to Copenhagen. Relatively cheap, gorgeous architecture, good place to bone as well.
And buy some sex toys. Complicated ones.
-
Do a tour of Europe. Couple of nights in Paris, Rome, London etc.
There are likely places that organise this as it would seem to be quite a popular trip.
EDIT: http://contiki.co.uk/trip_finder/europe
So a contiki was what I was thinking of.
-
Contiki tours are normally the kinds of things where you go out and look at touristy things and then get really drunk in the nights before having a very early start in the morning. I am not sure if it is Honeymoon-suitable. At least, that is my experience with Contiki tours when I went on one in NZ. It might be different in Europe where everything is much closer than Australia or NZ.
-
Well, I may be wrong as I don't have a lot of experience with them but I hear that people do those kinds of tours with their own structure so there must be other places that help organise too.
-
Really, Jordan, it just depends on what continent you want to have lots of honeymoon sex on. Also what climate. Plan accordingly!
-
Pick a wine region that'll have the weather you want, find a b&b.
-
come to regina, go skiing, stay in a nice hotel. i will cook burgers for you every day.
-
I would hire some kind of awesome luxury cabin itype thing in some beautiful wilderness area for that mix of luxury + beautiful scenery. Walks in the daytime with open fires and boning in the night.
Nobo's plan sounds pretty rad, too, if you prefer beaches to mountainy stuff.
Would not reccomend contiki tour for a honeymoon, unless you want to get thrown up on by some drunk aussies or poms in prague.
-
VOLCANOES IN JAPAN!
-
for some reason i assumed you were getting married in the winter?? i don't know when you're getting married, i just knew you got engaged.
come to regina, just chill out, i will cook burgers for you every day
-
After you get married you should go to Chicago to show Joe how it's done.
-
Aren't Contiki tours generally aimed towards single people who are looking to have a lot of anonymous drunken sex in exotic places? (i.e; not really honeymoon material)
My suggestion is 50-state minigolf tour in an R.V.
-
There may be some problems hitting state number 50 in that RV.
-
AUSTRALIA AUSTRALIA AUSTRALIA!
It's everything a honeymoon should be, with beaches and adventures and poisonous creatures to protect your lady from.
-

I can't believe you lazy bums haven't finished that tunnel yet.
-
I think the US should build a bridge to Hawaii, why? it'd create jobs, also, because we fucking can, this is goddamn america.
-
More bang for your buck. (http://www.thisismiddlesbrough.com/visit/Middlesbrough_Tourist_Information.asp)
-

This is a safe bet.
You could always go to Hawaii.
-
Hawaii is good. The Kona Plantation and Haleakala National Park (on Maui) are cool and worthwhile, but best is if you go to the main island and arrange for one of the Kilauea rangers to take you out just beyond the public safety barriers after dark. It is the coolest and most terrifying and humbling thing to see the ground glowing red beneath your feet from the magma so close to the surface.
Island hopping should actually be pretty affordable, now that I think about it.
-
This is a cool place to stay in Hawaii for a few days: http://www.hedonisiahawaii.com/
Ask around about stuff to do in the area and you should be golden for 3-4 days of exploring and enjoyment. Then you can go across the island to Kona, or hop to a different island.
-
Oh man that looks so great. Dag, I want to go.
-
Don't listen to these people! If you're going to Hawaii go to Kauai. The main island is hella touristy, and Kauai is a really nice balance between being populated enough that there is shit to do, but not excessively touristy. The North Shore is fucking beautiful and has some really great little towns!
-
sometimes i prefer the more touristy places, at least there will be things going on. being out alone, even on your honeymoon where you will probably be very sexually occupied, can be too much.
-
Yeah, that's why Kauai is great. There is plenty of stuff to do (a few really nice resorts and other shit like that, but it's not played out like the big island and Maui.
-
Ive only been to oahu, which i thought the north shore was on unless they all have north shores, which would make a ton of sense
-
I was referring to Kauai's north shore (Princeville and Hanalei mainly), not The North Shore. I suppose I should be more careful with my capitalization.
-
not have to worry bout passports or money exchange.
Because, y'know, these are so onerous.
-
Jordan can I interest you in spending your honeymoon visiting the beautiful Caribbean island of Saba (http://www.sabatourism.com/)
-

Gosh I love me some played out activities.
-

Dogg if you're saying the Big Island is played out you have simply not been to the good parts. You might've been Konaside ... I never went to Kona myself, but on the east side of the island (Hiloside) there are some absolutely amazing places to see, things to do, and people to see/do them with. The Big Island has its commercialized parts, it's true, but large areas of it are still beautiful and fresh.
-
Cuba!
-
Every motherfucker goes to Hawaii. Go somewhere that'll give your cred a little boost.
-
you're obscenely rich right, Ozy?
GO TO SPACE
-
Maybe it's just personal bias, but I've been all over both the big island and Kauai, and I think Kauai is just a lot better. Yeah the volcanoes are pretty cool, but in terms of a long trip I would much rather spend it on Kauai. Of course, the great thing about going to Hawaii is the ability to jump from one island to the others pretty easily.
-
actually the best thing to do is go to a third world country and live like a king for a week.
-
Go to Victoria, Canada
It's like a small wannabe England, but the Tourists seem to love it.
-
It looks nothing like England.
-
That's probably why the tourists love it!
-

when i was there, some random dude was sitting right on the sidewalk with a full drum kit, drumming away. yay victoria. and yay victorian drumming dude.
-
Man I liked Victoria but it didn't seem exciting enough for Honeymoon material, even if you did go to that big freaking hotel.
-
Bring the Solo Sidewalk Drummer up to make things freaky.
-
Turkey; it was good enough for me so it's good enough for you. Seriously, there's some really nice stuff there, with decent weather; we went to Fethiye, and hired a car to get around the antiquities and secluded beaches in the region.
-
I would pretty much do anything Paul told me to, therefor so should you Jordan.
Turkey. Go. NOW
