Who's reached the end of their funniness and should stay retired, and who's still interesting that you'd like to see on stage more often?
I was really glad to see Raven reappear in the Submacopter strips.

Why only 3 selections allowed?

I chose Wil and Steve over all others.
S
-
I chose Amir just because I want to see something happen with the band, I thought Jeph was going in that direction with all of Marten's recent introspection.
-
I say Amir. We need Martin back in the band, because if he isn't, all he's really doing is working at the library and going to CoD. Basically it gives him more opportunities to be away from Dora. Not that I have anything against Dora, I love the two of them together. When you think about it, except the time he's at work, he's always around Dora, either at CoD, one of their apts. or just wandering the streets as characters in this comic seem to love to do, and too much time with a significant other would destructive to any relationship. He needs some Marten time and the band would definitely give that to him. So therefore... AMIR!
-
^ This.
-
that is far too logical to be applied
-
Amir and Jimbo.
Amir because Marten needs to do something just because he loves it.
Jimbo because he's the fuckin' man.
-
Jimbo - I always found the comics with him amusing. And the fact that he writes erotica for a job is cool too.
Steve - Because he's Marten's best friend. Bros before hoes, man. Marten hangs around too many women.
Winslow - Pintsize beating/abusing on Winslow is immensely awesome.
-
Just because they're not in every other 5 comics doesn't mean they don't exist.
Christ, people. Raven was mentioned in the comic TODAY. Wil, yesterday. Winslow was frozen in the snow just a few weeks ago.
-
Sara.
-
who?
-
ANGUS + FAYE FOREVA
-
Sara was the blond barrista(sp?) from one of the very original strips.
I'd love to see Marten's mom come back. Even though she's a pretty 1-dimensional character she'd be able to play a nice role as part of a large plot.
-
she could be an integral part of my helicopter full of dominatrices idea
-
Cliched as it may sound, I'd still find it hilarious if Sara had become a bond-like, megalomaniac supervillain. It'd give Steve an arch-nemesis, maybe?
-
Sara is pizza girl you fools
-
Will, because he's my favorite.
Steve, cause Marten needs some friends that aren't female.
Angus, Seems like a fun time for him to come back.
-
Sara is pizza girl you fools
No, Penelope is Pizza Girl. Sara is still plotting her way out of the allosaurus' stomach. Those guys digest stuff unbelievably slowly.
-
Jimbo: They need to go out to the bar more. (And He's kinda hot)
Amir: Agree with Marten and the band
Windslow: I like him.
-
The guy who plays the yellophone
-
Amir was awesome because of his hairy arms.
BRING BACK HAIRY ARMS!!!!!
-
I assume the guy who plays the yellophone has hairy arms. He looks the type
-
and choice number four... Angus. Now faye is all Sven-less she needs a rebound
-
and choice number four... Angus. Now faye is all Sven-less she needs a rebound
Suddenly, Angus shows up and reveals he hasn't been around due to meeting a wonderful girl who reciprocates his feelings towards her and has been busy being happy in a monogamous relationship based on mutual respect and caring. Oh, and she's prettier than Faye.
-
Mastertoast, that's a great idea. Not nice for Faye, obviously, but a good twist.
-
I wish I could vote for Jimbo three times. His character had an almost-infinite potential for jokes, and they'd never get old if used in moderation.
-
I chose Amir just because I want to see something happen with the band, I thought Jeph was going in that direction with all of Marten's recent introspection.
Seconded.
-
they need a vocalist. They should get penelope to sing, her crazy ranting skillz would be perfect for their guitar/drum heavy music.
know that i have not listened to it im just assuming because of the instrument and how skilled a drummer they have
-
The Apple Store clerk: the one person in the universe Marten can intimidate.
-
He hanged himself after that incident
-
ANGUS + FAYE FOREVA
Yus. I think there's real potential for them, and even if it went horribly horribly wrong or was just a festival of awkwardness, it would all be good fun to watch!
-
ANGUS IS DEAD
-
He hanged himself, too
-
he was the main ingredient in the burger I just got from Hardee's
-
I thought the burgers there tasted a little like image pixels, but I didn't want to complain
-
Reports of his demise have been greatly exagerated.
Angus us back!
Yay!
That is all.

Yay. That is all.
/EDIT what the - I swear I wrote that before maddness posted... are you my evil twin?
-
Sara is pizza girl you fools
Shhh... you'll spoil the surprise!!
-
Emphasis on the evil.
-
emphasis on making a porno of twins
-
Yack, no. Twincest = bad. That's why I'm glad Dora's growing her hair out.
-

So the Olsens' new film Twincest is Best... no go?
-
Surgoshan, you've inflicted levels of trauma on my mind that can only be cured by staring at your avatar. You are the sickness and the cure, sir.
-
twincest is awesome until you think about it for more then 10 seconds
-
Putting aside the whole busload of wrong that is sexual acts involving your own siblings. Wanting to have sex with someone who looks just like you has got to be the ultimate in narcissism.
Soooo not the awesome.
-
Well, all the real dilemmas arising from incest are solved by twincest, assuming they're identical twins.
-
Note: I don't consider "It's icky" to be a real dilemma.
-
like "I love myself so much I want to have sex with someone who could very well be my clone"
Would be like making out with a mirror
-
A sexy, sexy mirror.
I dunno about you, but I think I'm hot. I'm not all that gay for myself, but I'd like to think that I'd make for some hot gaycest.
-
a mirror with awesome frenching skillz.
as long as no balls are touching
-
That's half the fun
-
I see no Sweet-Tits option. This disappoints me. Sooo...
Other, Jimbo, and Steve. Other for S-T, Jimbo for the fact that he makes me laugh whenever he's in the comic, and Steve because his scenes are always hilariously awesome, and the fact that he used to be a main character. Whatever happened to you, Steve?
-
He realised that hanging around with Marten just meant getting drunk and listening to him talking about indie music, so he thought "fuck that noise" and left
-
he kept getting depressed because marten gets laid more times then him now
-
"Yeah, whatever happened to Raven?" Rhetorically inquired Waferman.
-
....
She's dead. We'll never see her again.
There.
-
Well at least she left the way all emo kids hope to go. In a coffin. With her wrists slashed.
But was it suicide, or was it murder?
-
It was a velocoraptor. The world of QC is very like the one off the Flintstones
-
I hope he brings back Dromiceiomimus.
-
...

Dude, look at the cranial ridge; if Dino was a velociraptor he would have eaten the Flinstones.
-
You know your thread has gone off-topic when the people who aren't debating the realism of the Flinstones (albeit sarcastically) are talking about "hot gaycest".
-
Oh, and like Wil or something should be part of the regular cast. Or whatever.
-

Hmm what would be QC's version of the Great Kazoo?(or is it Gazoo?)
And what trouble would Pintsize get into with him/it?
-
Pintsize IS the great Gazoo.
-
If twins engage in twincest and have children... Wouldn't the children just be clones?
Raven is awesome in most measurable ways. Fun, cute, cheerful and intelligent without the sadness that brains usually confer. Jeph kinda gave her a side mention in the sledging pages, in the background (yeah i know that's the person she's based on but it gives him an out in the future!)
-
You have the spelling and word order a little mixed up.
Pintsize IS Gonzo the Great.
There ya go.
-
If twins engage in twincest and have children... Wouldn't the children just be clones?
Except that boy-girl twins are not identical.
-
Well now that's just discrimination.
I think we should protest.
-
What, going to sue your genes?
-
Now you're just being silly.
I was thinking more of a strongly worded letter to the Times.

Okay, let's leave that bit for the nonce. Suppose female lesbian identical twins decided they wanted to get married and have eachother's clone babies, somehow overcoming the lack of sperm and managing to fertilize one egg with another. Would they end up with a clone? No.
We all know from our bio/health classes that our chromosomes come in pairs, and that during meiosis the pairs split up and each goes into a gamete. This explanation is ... okay, but incomplete.
See, you have two chromosomes A & B that are paired up. But if you produce two sperm (assuming you're male; ladies, your gonads are too complex for the purposes of this discussion), then it is not the case that one will get chromosome A and the other chromosome B. Instead, there's a process during the production of the gametes such that the two chromosomes are essentially shuffled together and each sperm will get a chromosome that is part A and part B.
Thus, our twincestuous lesbians will produce someone who is genetically a very close sister and who is also very likely to have severe defects.
-
And remember that not all the DNA is in the chromosomes, either, and we don't know so much about the transmission of this mitochondrial DNA.
-
Wow so I voted those who were most voted already without even knowing. Raven, Steve and Wil. There's lots of variety though, the highest ranked only has 20%.
I don't believe Raven deserved to be in the list. Imean, she is one of the regulars right? Certainly not as important as the top 4 (Marten, Faye, Dora, PintSize), but she's one of the regulars for sure. I'd never assume she was to disappear, even if she's getting a lot less attention lately. She was never particularly developed, but always around. One of the oldest characters without much of their own space.
In short, she'll never be third- or fourth-tier enough to merit this sort of "offstage concern" thing, in my opinion.
If someone said something like this already? Count me as agreeing.
Steve is a total classic, and the last twist is just "da awsumm." He has to stay, through and through. He adds a lot to the strip, and not just random fun. He's a nice complement to the rest, especially Marten. I believe he's pretty different yet also one of the most normal characters (QC world craziness aside).
I doubt he'll ever go away, he has an even stronger lasting presence than Raven, and his own sub-plots too. Just because he's not a common presence doesn't mean Mr. Jacques is getting rid of him.
Wil is funny in ways similar to Hanners. We all just wanna see what goes on with Penny and him, right?
I didn't bother voting for Jimbo because he will stick around I think. Plus I'm ok with him remaining a very occasional, one-dimensional character. I'm pretty sure his butt is glued to that barstool too :-D
