One of my best friends is probably the BIGGEST Elliott Smith fan one could ever be so she got me into him. I wish I have more than two of his albums, he's got the voice of an angel.

And i must say that your friend has excellent taste, but then again i say that to anyone that likes Elliott Smith

i have every solo album he did and his Heatmiser work
aswell as more than 40 bootleg concerts..

Either/Or is by far my favourite album. Basically because each and every song on there is a real.. SONG. Like I could listen to them over and over again and never get bored. Maybe slightly suicidal, but not bored.

Good Will Hunting would have been a good film, but it was made great by his music.

I just got a new unreleased elliott demo anonymously by YSI, and it's on my site. That's all.

Well, except for the occasional low bitrate leak of unreleased, unfinished songs that are better than most pop artists A-game, it is sad to know that there's no more new music coming from him :(

Post by: Jeridus on 22 Jun 2006, 20:02: I got into ES's music when Royal Tenenbaums first came out, cause of Needle In The Hay in Ritchie's big scene, and it remains pretty much my favourite Elliott Smith song, ranking right above Waltz #2 and A Fond Farewell. He definitely pumped out some good music in his day

Unfortunately it was long after he died. I find his music really haunting, mostly because he's dead.

Also, my friend was really pissed when he killed himself because ES is what kept her from offing herself. Wierd how that works.

anyways. his guitar-ing was brilliant, many of his songs were brilliant, but his voice kind of sucked though. i mean in the albums his voice was kinda alright, real quiet and emotional but have you guys ever heard a recording of him live? yeesh.

Hehe, someone recently suggested an interpretation for that song that I really liked. I don't know how right it is, but it still sounds good:
