Well...just wanted to brag about myself goin off to see Sigur Ros play here in Melbourne...hell of a thing since Marylin Manson I reckon (not that it was good, but the hype on this is pretty big between us lovers of musically literate artists). You know, I knew a photographer who got spat on by Manson O_O. Really strange, cus he was the only one...he must have spent 2 days in the shower trying to wash off all the salivary shit. Not that it's something to praise - "my friend is so lucky, he got spat on by Marylin Manson"...but more like "my friend is so goddamn unlucky, he got spat on by Marylin Manson".
Anyway...
Sigur Ros, WOO!
-
I missed them when they were in Boston, you lucky bastard!
-
you indeed are a very lucky bastard.
-
…who is on crack.
-
Sigur Ros is a great band and it's cool that you're going to go see them. I just don’t know where all that stuff about Manson fits in here.
-
i just like sayin random stuff...and it seems 'manny' was one of those random things i just wanted to comment on...what a wierdo hehe (both him and I O_O).
Anyway....1 week to go!! WOO!
-
I'm going to see them at T in the Park Wooo!
-
Heh I was gonna go to T in the park, but then I thought:
No. The only band I'm really wanting to see in Sigur Rós and they played edinburgh not so long ago and it was hella cheaper than T in the park.
The camping is meant to be a blast though.
-

You poor, poor human being. It was a freakin' awesome show.
-
Sigur Rós and they played edinburgh not so long ago
i was at that edinburgh gig, it was definitely worth the journey up from newcastle.
i'd love to see them at T, my uncle lives in the same glen and i can really imagine it being a beautiful setting to watch them in.
y'know if it wasn't for all the other dirty festival folk getting in your way ;)
-
I'm going to see them in Michigan. Whoo.
Who would have guessed I like Sigur Ros?
-
WOW i just booked my tickets this morning for brissie next saturday ... i was a bit tentative about it cause tickets were $70 and i dont know who i will go with and i dont like them that much but ive heard good things about them in concert so i decided to go.... WOOT for sigur ros
-
man you'll love em. The tickets are $72.60...so they're not cheap, but they're not all that expensive either. It'll be awesome to see them play though, hearing the shit they do on their albums is pretty cool...I wonder how they'll be able to pull of that shit on stage...so yeh, it'll be mad.
6 days to go! :D
-
if you've not seen them before be prepared for untitled 8 to blow your head clean off your shoulder :)
-
YAY ... its so weird cause i logged on and was gunna ask if you guys thought they would be worth seeing live and there was already a thread WHEEE .... the only thing that makes me sad is i don't really have anyone to go with ... like i have a bunch of guy mates who are going but i kinda feel unwelcome hanging around them but im sure it will rock anyway :)
-
well, i've seen loads of bands since i started going to gigs playing everywhere from bars to arenas to festivals and sigur ros are responsible for possibly the single best thing i've ever seen at a gig.
theres plenty vids on youtube, but none of them really capture the atmosphere of it all.
-

yeah...look, I reckon the best people to go with are your CLOSEST friends. I mean, obviously people who're into the music, but also people you feel comfortable with being urself. I'm going with two good friends of mine, so yeah.
Here's a though: maybe invite a girl you like O_O.
-
lol except i am female myself and i dont actually really live in brisbane im just there on hols.... just an FYI ... but yeah its all good i will make new friends in a strange town and it shall all be good... in fact i shall just wear some short shorts and im sure i can make friends that way :P
-
damn your female ways! I never really understood the reason for girls showing up naked being a turn on for guys, but guys showing up naked being a complete turn off for girls.
Oh yeah, by the way O_O......sorry i didn't know you were a girl.
Ah...yeah, why don't you...ah...yeah O_O I dunno lol
-
lol i must defend myself and say that short shorts are the most comfortable and practical item of clothing to wear to a concert.... i also usually tend to wear the typical band tee and cons as well so im far from naked :P and i forgive you for thinking im a guy ...
you have to promise to give me a report on how they are in concert cause you will see them before i do :-D
-
hehe...yes i shall *stands tall.......but doesn't really because this is a forum post and not real life*
I don't really have a concert 'dress' thing that I ever wear O_O...I just go casual and bring my leather jacket (now THAT thing is oisum...thanks to the ass of the cow that gave its life so I can feel good)
-
I'm not seeing them in perth. They were on the bill for the West Coast Blues and Roots Festival, but they cancelled. I'm also gonna miss Michael Franti and the Black Keys (who are playing at the same time) because I have to be on the other side of the city at 9ish.
and short shorts are never hot.
-
LIES!
-
good point ....
and anyway mine arent even like that their pinstripey and tailored and they say stylish not 'lookie you can see half my ass'
-
wow...i like stripes...i have stripes on some of my briefs...they're all breifly striped..AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
...
oh god that was shocking O_O
even for me
-
i spelt briefly wrong :-D
oh man I feel stupid this evening (im going on about spelling 'briefly' wrong and then again I've been creating other spelling mistaks <----THERES ONE!)
anyway...
werrr!
-
My point still stands. Class, not ass people!
-
and short shorts are never hot.
You never tried to prove a point though O_O...you just said that (refer to above)
so ah...yeah...it's only a matter of opinion. And my opinion of your opinion is that your opinion is queerified...meaning I think if you prefer women in corsets and dresses, well, lets just not go there anymore.
girls are just amazing creatures no matter what. Hell they're the gender that can look hot without the need of clothes...man, they even look BETTER naked. While we, men, we ah...don't O_O
-
I missed them when they were in Boston, you lucky bastard!
Well, they are coming back to Boston...
May 14th, Bank of America Pavilion. I will be there, in the second row. Huzzah!
-
Apparently last night's show in Perth was awesome.

-
oh man...i just cant wait till tomorrow night :D
-
Only 5 more sleeps *does merry jig* ohhh i cant wait its gunna be the best night EVER
-
I'm gonna see Sigur Ros at Tivoli, Brisbane tomorrow!!!
-
I'm going to see Sigur Ros at Coachella. And Daft Punk. And Depeche Mode. And Massive Attack. And Mogwai. And a bunch of other groups. In the sun.
-
I saw them play a set last night at the great escape in Sydney. They were fantastic. I still find it hard to get over the 'Hopelandic' thing, but they were still great.
-
I just got back from seeing them in Bris. They were all kinds of awesome and that is the most I've ever seen a crowd get into a show.
-
Yah, im' seeing them at coachella. They're playing here...I think like the day after coachella but I don't think i'd be up for seeing them again.
-
I hate you all.
-
holy mackeral. I saw them 2 days ago here in Auckland, NZ. They were incredible, and the crowd just could not stop making appreciative noise.
I have a question, for those out there who actually bother to memorize the names of the songs, as correlating to me not knowing Icelandic. What was the name of the song where two bass guitars were used? The singer played one, and the bassist (naturally).
Any takers?
-
Saw them on Monday night… So amazing. Words cannot describe how good they were. They had a string quartet with them, an awesome light show, the sound mix was perfect (and loud). I was just in awe the whole time.
-
Seeing them at the Orpheum in Minneapolis in about half a month. Needless to say I am SO FUCKING EXCITED.
-
/me covers ears, closes eyes
LALALALALALAICANTHEARYOULALALALAAAA!
