Like a bunch of other people making new threads, I'm looking for some new music, can anyone suggest some for me? Right now I'm listening to goat, a videogame remixer who can really rock the f**k out. So far though, I can't find anyone who comes close to his level of rockitude. I am an extreme noob when it comes to music, though, so most bands and even whole genres that are common knowledge to most people are completely new to me. I've heard of this melodeath, which is kinda similar to what goat does, and for the most part I like it, because I love how balls-to-the-wall it is, and yet has a very strong focus on melody, but I always get bugged by the vocals, the death screams, which, compared to the guitars, are so unmelodic, monotone, and jarring. I'm looking for something that is filled with guitars that are rocking the f**k out, but has a central melody and does a lot with melodies and harmonies with the guitars, instead of settling into a simple chord progression like most songs do. Can anybody guide me to music that might match my tastes?

Khar will help you like alls hell.
You might like The Advantage, though. Shit like that, video game cover artists.
-
Well, if you like metal, not all of it has the growls and such. Not that I know shit about metal, so wait for Khar. You could also check out some punk bands, but it sounds like you'd like more complex guitar work than punk usually has.

Death. Not the genre, the band. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Human or Symbolic now. Seriously, like right fucking now.

Kyuss and Hypnos 69, I think, both fulfill your criteria. Both will have their less rocking-out bits (though I could count the number of less-than-rocking-out moments in the Kyuss discography on one hand), but they're both fucking awesome bands.

INVASION OF THE MUTANT SPACE BATS OF DOOM
And speaking seriously (though you should check out IOTMSBOD anyway):
Hammerfall, Star One, Pagans Mind, Therion, Domine, Amorphis, some Edge of Sanity.
I have to catch a bus now, but that will get you started.

I totally second Star One and Pagan's Mind. I'm not really sure if Edge of Sanity really applies to this situation, but they kick ass anyway.

I was thinking the more melodic-vocalled tracks.
