Favorite current TV show?
For me, its Good Eats on the Food Network (Alton Brown is awesome) and Survivorman, on the Science Channel
you?
-
grey's anatomy addict right here.
and most extreme slimination challenge on spike tv. take a crazy japanese game show (they're all crazy, but yeah) and mix it with silly voice overs and you have yourself one of the funniest things ever. even japanese people like the new version better than the original show.
-
Japanese people like it better? Reference? Not t hat I doubt you, I just think it's an interesting phenomenon if it's true. (a couple of japanese people you happen to know don't count).
For me:
The Boondocks
The Daily Show
The Colbert Report
The Venture Bros.
Smallville
Frontline
House
Are all pretty much the only programs I watch regularly (though I will admit to getting sucked into Project Runway. And also that the person I wanted to win in that show did).
-
Who's Line Is It Anyway?
I also like:
Family Guy
Futurama
Robot Chicken
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Southpark
-
um hello? yo momma
</sarcasm>
futurama reruns!
samurai champloo reruns
trigun reruns
the colbert report is almost always funny
i dunno i dont watch that much tv so i'm prolly missing all kinds of new shows but i'm never home when 'normal' tv is on (and if i am, i'm busy).
-
House.
Honestly, what a program.
-
The L Word. I have every episode on my PC right now, but I've watched them all. Waiting for new season currently.
other than that, House is so fucking amazing that when I watch it, my nipples are hard the whole show. (even during commercials)
-
Scruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuubs.
I had never seen the show until march break. My friend and I went on a trip. She had a portable dvd player and over the course of the trip I watched the first four seasons. Now I'm hooked. I can't stop.
-
As I don't own a television, the only TV shows I'm following now (via the intuhr webs) are Lost and Prison Break.
Both are silly at times, but they offer short doses of entertainment when I need one.
-
My favorites have been mentioned but what the heck. Note that I don't watch a lot of tv. In no particular order:
Good Eats (yes, Alton Brown is the fucking man)
The Daily Show
The Colbert Report
The Venture Bros.
-
Green Wing probably.
Though I could list a lot more.
-
Oh man.
I got into Green Wing when i was back home for Easter but now i'm back at uni, in my 'broken TV' flat, missing its delights. And i left at an exciting bit too (Mac's ex coming back onto the scene). Oh, such Green Wing addict frustration i suffer!
Although, on topic, i'd say Dr Who, My Name Is Earl and Never Mind The Buzzcocks re-runs are my favourite current TV shows. Which i'm missing. Along with Green Wing. Did i mention i was missing that? :p
-
\Reference? Not that I doubt you, I just think it's an interesting phenomenon if it's true. (a couple of japanese people you happen to know don't count).
ok, excluding my japanese friends, i know i read it somewhere, just can't remember. if i find it i'll post it.
-
The L Word
Entourage
Weeds
Family Guy
but mostly The L Word.
-
Desperate Housewives and Lost. ER if i actually remember to watch it.
-
Man, I can't really stand much TV. I barely watch it at all. Among the stuff that I appreciate and sometimes watch: good anime on Adult Swim, The Daily Show, and The Mythbusters.
I also love Firefly to pieces, but I guess that doesn't count anymore.
-
Mythbusters
The Office (US version)
Family Guy
The War at Home
I <3 basic cable.
-
House, Family Guy, Medium and Rage are probably the only shows I watch regularly. Iron Chef is quite awesome when I remember to watch it. My school schedule means I miss most prime time stuff but I doubt I'm missing out on much.
-
Excluding anime...
My Name is Earl
Mythbusters
Everybody Hates Chris
We don't have cable at my apartment so we just download all the TV shows we want to see.
-
My Name is Earl, House, Mythbusters, South park.
Damn already all covered.
Tons of Fresh Price reruns, but thats because it's ALWAYS ON.
House is such an amazing show. Seriously, and I'm glad that so many people love it. Gives me hope that it will stick around for a bit.
"Oh, you know nuns. Take out their IUD and they bounce right back."
-
Mythbusters
Daily Show
Colbert Report
Scrubs
Battlestar Galactica
and most of the Adult Swim programming.
-
BLEEEEEACH.
They need to come out with a new episode soon, or I am going to die.
-
All have been mentioned (maybe this is to suggest to companies that they're aren't enough good shows out there, or maybe that QC readers watch the same channels at times)
Mythbusters
Daily Show
Colbert Report
Family Guy
Futurama
one that is different, but now canceled
Mystery Science Theater 3000
-
LOST
(Lost)
-
The L Word
Sealab 2021
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Curb Your Enthusiam
That's about it, although I sometimes catch Grey's Anatomy.
-
Dr. Who. West Wing.
-
My Name is Earl would probably get my vote.
-
Sealab. That's about all on TV I even watch anymore.
-
Hizzy and Scrubs. Everything else I watch is on DVD or the inter-nets.
Man, I do not have high hopes for Hizzy. It is a Fox show, it is awesome, and it stars Hugh Laurie. We might as well dig a grave right now, except that season 2 is nearly finished here and that is just creepy.
-
Grey's Anatomy. It's one of the few things I actually get to watch as I work most nights aside from Sunday. I could tape the other shows such as Lost and House, but I don't have the time to watch the tapes. Oh, and hockey. I'll always make time for the hockey playoffs.
-
The two best shows on television are:
The Boondocks
and
The Colbert Report
Other shows on TV that I enjoy watching:
The O.C. (Shameful, I know)
Gray's Anatomy
House
The Daily Show
South Park
Family Guy
American Dad
Daria (on Noggin!) [reruns]
Futurama [reruns]
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Sealab 2021
Space Ghost: Coast To Coast
Scrubs
The Tick (Cartoon) [reruns]
Cancelled shows I enjoyed watching:
MST3k
Undeclared
The Tick (Live Action)
Andy Richter Controls The Universe
Greg The Bunny
Boston Public
-
I don't actually watch TV, only Torrented/Rented DVDs of TV shows.
In that vein, I've watched at various times:
nu-BSG
Star Trek: TNG
Miami Vice (fuck yes!)
and my current fave,
Arrested Development
-
Mythbusters, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, Cheap Seats. I need to get a DVR before the World Cup starts.
-
Oh man.
I got into Green Wing when i was back home for Easter but now i'm back at uni, in my 'broken TV' flat, missing its delights. And i left at an exciting bit too (Mac's ex coming back onto the scene). Oh, such Green Wing addict frustration i suffer!

Oh, that sucks! You would not believe what has happened!! *says no more*
-
Oh no! Is it something scandelous and exciting? I bet it'll be something scandelous and exciting! *sobs*
-
About the only show I watch religiously is Hustle on AMC. It's complete genius.
-
foster's home for imaginary friends is the only show that does not bore me to tears.
-
The Sopranoes. Very much the best show on TV these days. Really, I don't watch much current TV though, mainly just Seinfeld.
-
Scrubs
Mythbusters
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
In that order.
-
There is no such thing as good TV shows on Danish television, and since that is all I have I watch a minimal amount of TV.
I watched 24(not the version in the USA, but the previous one) even though it is mostly harmless, "Well I'll be damned, first they try to cause a meltdown on all our nuclear powerplants and now they have stolen a nuclear warhead? what a novel idea!"
They just started showing Commander in Chief which I think will be decent fun, the premise is interesting anyway.
But we usually get all the stupid serials like Tru Calling, Desperate Housewives, aussie soap operas and a no doubt horrid series called Medium.
Do any of you know Threshold because they are going to air this soon?
-
Sopranos by far, then in no particular order some others. I get my TV through the interweb.
24
News Radio
Arrested Development
Mythbusters
ATHF
Sealab
MacGyver
House
CSI
Penn & Teller's Bullshit
.....
-
The only current shows I can't bear to miss:
Doctor Who
Scrubs
Law & Order: SVU
Family Guy
-
I usually end up not watching much tv for some reason...i guess that's a good thing? but i do own my favorite shows on dvd :p
namely:
ATHF
sealab 2021 (i'm one of two people i know who actually likes it)
family guy
as for the times i do watch tv i usually manage to nab The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Comedy Central ftw!
oh and Start Trek: The Next Generation on G4 :p
-
CSI
Deadliest Catch
ER
Good Eats
Ghost Hunters
House
Law and Order
Mythbusters
NUMB3RS
Tonight Show with Jay Leno
-
Serious:
Lost
Prison Break
CSI
Law and Order
Comedy:
Simpsons
Family Guy
Futurama
My Name is Earl
American Dad
-
Robot Chicken, Harvey Birdman, House, but most of all- Legends of the Hidden Temple. Go Green Monkeys!
-
The Purple Parrots rule the sky!!
-
http://www.hbo.com/thewire/
Best god-damn show on television without a shadow of a doubt. If you liked Homicide: Life on the Street back in the day, you'll like the Wire. Warning, though: to get the most out of it you'll want to watch it right from the first episode of the first season, otherwise it might be hard to figure out what's going on with some of the characters. I can't wait 'til Season 3 starts screening in Australia.
-
Actually, I keep forgetting now only is Deadwood a current show, but that its still quite young, and showing more and more potential with each season.
So I definatly gotta go Deadwood.
-
Also, I forgot to mention that the Wire has "Way Down in the Hole" by Tom Waits as the theme tune (original version in season 2, cover by the Blind Boys of Alabama in season 1).
-
I forgot Boston Legal when I last posted. And that's important.
-
Scrubs
Green Wing
Arrested Development
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Prison Break
-
Curb Your Enthusiasm and Veronica Mars. Though I have to wait until they make it to DVD :(
-
I don't watch much TV, but I enjoy Mythbusters if I do end up turning the TV on.
I will always love Firefly.
-
I don't watch much TV, but I enjoy Mythbusters if I do end up turning the TV on.
I will always love Firefly.
I'm the same exactly.
-
I just don't watch tv anymore. British tv is rubbish.
-
Seinfeld.
-
Grey's Anatomy
And anything on the Canadian food network especially Barefoot Contessa
-
So you think you can dance. I know its mind numbing and stupid, but its more visually stimulating than American Idol and some of the people in the auditions are just catty.
-
non anime wise I only watch Coupling
-
The L Word
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives
Veronica Mars
Bones
South Of Nowhere
-
I don't have cable anymore but I used to watch Adult Swim pretty regularly.
Anime:
Bleach (I download the subbed version at bleachportal.net every week, since they are at episode 97 way ahead of AS.)
Trigun
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy Bebop
Other:
The Office
Home Movies
Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Family Guy
My guilty pleasure:
ER
-
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Venture Brothers
Robot Chicken
Metalocalypse
-
current shows has been Heroes, House and Prisonbreak,
-
FREAKS & GEEKS - I am terribley obsessed with it since I just finished downloading all the episodes. Such great characters and writing.
older Simpsons
Futurama
America's Next Top Model
The Colbert Report
Mission Hill
Video on Trial
-
I would desperately like more episodes of Stella. Just thought I'd tell you guys.
-
I've become newly enamored with Cowboy Bebop...started watching this show again today, and remembered how much I liked it.
-
I'm gonna have to go with Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls, even though I'm pretty sure Dead Like Me lasted all of 2 episodes on Australian TV
-
SBS has put Oz back on so I'm digging that again.
I'm a sucker for prison melodrama with a bit of rape and horrific violence thrown in just to spice it up a bit.
If I was in Em City I would hang with the Sicileans coz they don't fuck around.
-
For my money Entourage is the best show on television, I just wish they would roll out new episodes a little more often. Of the new shows, I am liking Sunset 60 and Heroes.
Guilty pleasure:
Gene Simmons Family Jewels
-
Weeds is my favorite show right now, but I also watch Heroes, Lost, Gray's Anatomy, most poker shows, The Simpsons and Family Guy. Wow, thank god for Tivo, I can't imagine how long it would take to watch all of those if I had to sit through commercials.
-
Indubitably, Have I Got News For You :-)
Edit: It's not supposed to be question!!
-
House. The other two shows I watch are Project Runway and Seinfeld reruns. But yeah, House.
-
Studio 60, How I Met Your Mother, Futurama, Family Guy, McGuyver
-
Studio 60, How I Met Your Mother, Futurama, Family Guy, McGuyver
McGuyver is still on TV? WTF? How has nobody told me about this?
-
I think there are only about four shows that I aniticipate the release of the next episode. They are;
Mythbusters, Smallville, The Colbert Report, House, and Kenny vs. Spenny.
Crap, I forgot Corner Gas and Billable Hours.
-
must it be current? that two that come to mind have both been cancelled, (futurama and lois & clark.)
if not those, then probably csi or house.
-
I love The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, but I guess I wouldn't necessarily consider them my faves.
My two fave shows are currently in-between seasons right now. :|
Those being Rome, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Nice to see some other CYE fans here. :-D
-
- Gilmore Girls (Loved it for years, and even though I didn't really like the sixth season, I kiiinda like the 7th so far, surprisingly enough)
- Heroes (Looks good so far <3)
- Prison Break (Hooked, and can't just..stop watching)
- Weeds (<3 Awesome, and I hate that the second season is so short)
- Bones (Okay, on break, and I know it's stupid and weird, but I love it :p)
- House (Good stuff. Sure, the episodes follow an extremely obvious pattern, but it's fun)
- Grey's Anatomy (Hah, drama all the way. I'm hooked, don't even know why)
- Veronica Mars (Okay, so at first I hated the show, then I started watching it now and then while waiting for some other show, and now I download it because it's relatively okay and I don't have anything else to do)
- Mythbusters (Awesomeness)
- Scrubs (Okay, on break, but I can't wait until it returns)
- Help Me Help You (Looks good so far, and I hope it'll continue that way)
Hm, I watch a lot more televison than I thought I did. But then again; I download most of these shows because Norwegian television is too far behind and I'm extremely impatient. Which means that I watch them on the computer while doing other stuff, so yay, I don't waste all the time spent on TV shows.
-
Criminal Minds. My housemate is studying to be a forensic psychologist and nobody does it better than Inigo Montoya, so every Monday we hit that shit up.
-
Battlestar freakin' Galactica.
Anyone else see last week's episode? Where Galactica jumps into the New Caprica atmosphere and drops a few miles like a flaming brick so it can llaunch its fighters close to the ground before jumping back out into space with a sonic boom?
Hard. Core.
-
About the only show I've taken time to watch routinely in the past two years has been that new show that came out "The Class". I quite like that show.
I also enjoyed "Life on a Stick" when it was on Fox, but I guess nobody else did as they cancelled it pretty quickly.
-
Family Guy
The Office
Little Britain
And I'm into South Park again, ever since I've discovered www.allsp.com (http://www.allsp.com).
-
Life On A Stick was cancelled after like what, three episodes? Sad.
Right now, House, Bones, and Standoff. I love me some Ron Livingston.
There's a show starting on USA soon about the Canadian Secret Service..I think it's called "Underbudget" or something? It looks funny.
-
Grey's Anatomy (completely hooked me with the End of the World / As We Know It two-part episode)
Late Night with Conan O'Brien
I don't have a TV, so I don't let myself get into too many shows.
-
Battlestar freakin' Galactica.
Anyone else see last week's episode? Where Galactica jumps into the New Caprica atmosphere and drops a few miles like a flaming brick so it can llaunch its fighters close to the ground before jumping back out into space with a sonic boom?

Amen to that.
Exodus Part II had me giddy as a school girl. I was beyond words after the jump scene. Best...Television...Episode...Ever.
-
I watched the entire first season of Dead Like Me in two days. That's a show they never would air here in Holland. But I love it. It's f-ing brilliant.
-
House and The Office are the only shows I regularly watch.
-
America's Funniest Home Videos
Futurama re-runs
those are the only shows i can think of. i have no idea whats currently on tv. i heard there was a show called Lost that was good but i've never seen it.
-
Probably House. That show is just awesome.
-
Battlestar Galactica
Doctor Who
Heroes
That's only things that are on right now, though.
-
any fans of The Wire?
-
Yay!!! ONE persone actually listed Penn and Teller's Bullshit. That's my current #1 addiction. I only heard about it a few weeks ago and downloaded the first 3 seasons. Almost done the third already. We also do not have cable and pretty much never watch TV, except for hockey. We just download shows we like and watch them that way... commercial free, on your own time, don't have to wait a week between episodes (which is really a bonus for the first 3 shows listed below) plus we have our computer hooked up to the TV so we can watch all this on a 36" screen instead of on the little computer monitor (it would not be so cool if it weren't for that)
So besides Bullshit, the shows I watch religiously are:
24 (always wait till the whole season is done before I watch it, then we have a marathon and go through the whole thing in a couple of days)
Prison Break (we actually caved and watched the first 6 or 7 episodes of this season, but haven't seen any since they got back from the World series hiatus... better go download it)
Lost (haven't watched any of this season yet)
House MD
Shark (it's really good: like a lawyer version of House)
Smith (also a new show that's really good, seen the first 3 or 4 episodes so far)
The 4400 (kinda lame acting but an interesting story idea... only heard of it and started watching it cause I was an extra on the season finale)
I've got all of Grey's Anatomy on the PC but I have only scratched the surface so far (like the first 3 episodes or something)
Some shows I haven't actually watched yet but intend on exploring (meaning I have them on my PC already):
Entourage
Jericho
Heroes
I think there's more but I can't remember right now and I'm too lazy to check.
PS: Woot! First post in this forum :-P
-
Bones is my current favorite
its makes me giggle and I happen to like the actors
-
Studio 60 (I worship at the altar of Sorkin)
Heroes
Scrubs
The Office
My Name is Earl
The Daily Show
The Colbert Report
Prison Break (To laugh at it)
Yeah, I don't watch much television. I blame it on the fact that I made it my career.
-
Bones? is my current favorite?
its makes me giggle and I happen to like the actors
Haha, I so agree. But seriously, they're sloow...I want Brennan/Booth-action! Haha, and I just started noticing David Boreanaz' socks in Bones. He's worn pink ones, green ones with a silly pattern etc. And in some promo shots, where all the characters are lying on those tables the corpses lie on, everyone's wearing dark-ish clothes and shoes, while he's lying there with purple and white striped socks and no shoes. It's mildly amusing :p
