Title: Peter Pan?

So, tonight, I saw Peter Pan live on stage. It was brilliant.... but it makes me wonder... has anyone else ever seen it done on stage? Not a small-scale, high-school quality production... but a huge, big spectacular Show?

Never saw Peter Pan, but I did see Mozart's The Magic Flute.  In the original German, and in the Leipzig Opera House, Leipzig being the city where Bach was born.  It was hella impressive.

Was Peter Pan what you expected?  Details!

Well, to an extent, it was far more then I had hoped for... but in others, it wasn't. It was a new script, intended to change up the feel of the Darling family especially, by placing them in Depression-era Alberta prarie. I was a little wary about... Tom Wood, the writer, did that for Uncle Vanya, and it SUCKED.

Pan turned out very, very well, I thought. The only thing that really irked me (aside from the choice to play a short section of Pirates of the Carribean Music during the fight on the Jolly Roger.... -_-;) was that he chose to not include the Clap-For-Tinkerbell-Or-She'll-Die part. Instead, Peter's tears brought her back, because Mrs. Darling told Wendy at the beginning that, "There's not joy without pain - tears are a miracle." That was bothersome - I think I may write him a letter asking why he made that choice.

yes, as a ballet as well as musical. in the ballet, a man actually played pan. wow. kathy rigby played pan in the musical and it was quite good.

The only time I ever saw Peter Pan on stage was in second grade when my parents decided to send me to the pretentious private school in San Fransisco.  One weekend we went on a trip to see it in downtown San Fran.  I actually think that is my only good memory of that god forsaken place.

I have seen Peter Pan on stage, and they had Pan roped up so he could fly over the audience. I also saw The Hobbit as well at some stage as well.

I've never seen it on stage, but I'm not sure I really could enjoy it as I should.  I love the book version so much, and I've loved it for so long that I can't really see any actors living up to that vision.  Plus the play version is more light-hearted and less philosophical/tragic/disturbing than the book version.

But man, did I ever want to be Wendy when I was younger.
