My brother's a member and tried to explain it to me.

Post by: Melodic on 19 May 2006, 13:54: AceGun nailed it on the head. It's a BitTorrent site (one of the larger ones), but a very strict one in terms of uploading. A ratio is established comparing your downloads to your uploads, and keeping it in the green (more uploaded than downloaded) is a pain, but worth it.

I used it for awhile, but I was having troubles with Torrent and couldn't upload.

Notes, because you guys probably don't know

OiNK - Huge private torrent site. 60000 users. Tons of torrents. Everything goes. Ebooks, music, audio, apps...lots of sh*t.

IndieTorrents - Small private torrent site. 9000 users. Music and some music videos only. And nothing associated with RIAA. Literally, indie stuff only.

If you're looking for a general source of music, you want OiNK. If you're looking to explore, stuff usually gets onto indie torrents quickly (but usually the first person to download a new album on IT puts it on OiNK to boost their ratio, so it isn't really a problem)

The torrent site covers everything: music, videos, comics, anime, apps, etc. It's a lot like mininova except there stuff you can find on Demonoid that you can't find on Mininova. I flip between mininova and Demonoid for music stuffs. I've got invites I can send from my Demonoid account in case anyone is interested.

If this was directed at me, you can't honestly expect me to make an active contribution in less than 24 hours.

That's fair enough, but the assumption I (or other people) registered just for the invites? Not so. If I were given an invite, I wouldn't just go off and leave the forum after getting it like that statement implies.
I wanted to make the post now in case the discussion didn't come up again, as I've been looking for an IT invite for a good six months now.
