Because the Great Jephasaur has decreed it.
Get back in line.

I don't really think this is worth arguing about.

Because there isn't enough discussion of books on this forum to justify giving them an area of their own.  The "Books" bit was tacked on to the end of the original "Movies & T.V. Shows" section when it became apparent that there was, however, enough book-related discussion to merit a specific section for it somewhere.

But hey, if you want to start heaps of threads talking about books, I'm up for that.

Oh I'd do it if they were given a proper environment.

It's probably not really true that most movies are based on books. Most blockbusters probably are based on books though. Scripts that don't start as richly detailed documents tend to look good on paper, but give us masterpeices such as 'Vampirella'. Ugh.

Oh I'd do it if they were given a proper environment.

Say, for instance, a forum entitled "Movies, TV Shows, and Books" where you could discuss your favourite books together with any movie/TV adaptations of said books, and other such creations of a literary nature, all in the one convenient setting?

...wait, what?

If I remember correctly this subforum was originally just for Movies & TV shows.  Then someone started talking about books, and there were a few book threads.  We didn't see books taking up and entire sub-forum here (unfortunately) so we had to make a decision to add it to either the Comics & Drawings forum (which is mostly about webcomics and people's drawings, not print comics), and this subforum.

I know it's not the ideal place for it, but it's the best fit for purpose for these forums at the moment.  If we got a lot more book-specific talk in here maybe it'd be worth splitting it out, so if you're a literary enthusiast feel free to stir up some book chat.
