Title: Music downloads and fun stuff like that
Post by: Misereatur on 24 Jun 2006, 16:35
I've been downloading music almost exclusively from Soulseek (http://www.slsknet.org), mostly because of all the obscure music I could find there. But, soulseek has a lot of problams and bugs, and lately it started getting on my nerves.

So anyway, I'm looking for a new music download softwere. Recommendations?
Of course, I'll keep using soulseek, I'm just looking for somthing to use when soulseek is acting up.

p.s.
If your a soulseek user, post your user name and I'll add you to my list, we can start a QC chat room and all.
Also, I'm not a big fan of torrents,

DC++. Khar kinda got me onto it with his talking about it and I rarely ever even use BitTorrent anymore. Seriously, you get it set up and you can get some good shit.

Yeah.

DC can be annoying sometimes, but no more so than when you can't get a seed with BT. The best thing about DC is how much new, crazy and entirely unexpected music, literature, films and whatnot you can pick up just browsing through peoples file-lists.

It's also addicting as fuck. Like, you search up one artist, get that person's file list, browse through that, see another artist, download an album of that, search for more of that artist, find another user, look through their stuff, find a ton more... you can pretty much spend hours doing it. I do.

My SoulSeek name is my user name. It's my username for everything, and luckily it isn't often taken. I'm more of a torrent guy myself though.

I've got soulseek, I also go by Coonstar on there. My soulseek gets all weird though and I show up as offline to most people even when I'm online at random points, and disconnect me from ze downloads! wutehfark.

I use a lot of BitTorrent, in fact that's how I got most of my music. I haven't seen much of soulseek, but it sounds intresting. Lately I have been getting my music legally. Something that I haven't done in a long while. For that I use E-Music, which rocks.

I use BitTorrent and LimeWire, mostly. I have Soulseek, but never figured out how to use it, and quite frankly I am too lazy to download/set up DC++.
