Title: macbook external hard drive question
Post by: keigo on 25 Jun 2006, 23:22
hey anyone have any tips for this? i have a samsung 250gb external hard drive that i filled with tunes on my old pc laptop, and now that i got a macbook, it's not wanting to recognize the external. what i've read is that it has to do with whether its compiled with FAT, NTFS, or HFS. but is there anyway to safely make it mac-friendly without having to delete everything first? i don't really have anywhere else to dump 250gb of files while i reformat the drive...
any suggestions are welcomed!

well, the short answer is no, not really.  you'd need to transfer the stuff off the drive and then reformat it.  you can probably find something that'll make it work, but its likely to be expensive, complicated or unreliable.
