the first song on the cd : yay or nay
i'm asking this because i absolutely love.i think it's a good way to start such a fun album. but everyone else seems to be really annoyed by it and think it is overly indulgent!
toughts?

so uh... welcome to 2005?
I like the first track.
-
I hated to start with. Then it started to grow on me.
But it's was a stupid track to put on the front of the album, any attempts to convert others to CYHSY are completed wasted as soon as they hear that.

This is like the fifth thread the the title "Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah" though I am guilty of one of them. But they totally deserved more hype than they got. I dont even know if they have a single.
-
Actually that's the only song I like of theirs.
-
I love the song. It's like a preface in a book: it welcome you into the world of the album . . . THE WORLD OF ROCK!!!
Ahem, sorry, came over a bit Jack Black there.
Know what I don't like about Clap Your Hands Say Yeah? The fact that their Australian tour, that I've been looking forward to for months now, has just been cancelled. "Disappointing" doesn't even begin to describe it.

i always tend to skip the first track.. it's not because i dislike it, but when i'm in the mood to hear some clap your hands say yeah!, the first track sorta gets in the way.
-
Funny thing, I am listing to this album as we speak. I tend to just listen to it, its just there, I am far to lazy to skip it.
-
Actually that's the only song I like of theirs.
"Heavy Metal?" "Skin Of My Yellow Country Teeth?" Come on, man.

Funny thing is that when my friend first introduced me to Clap Your Hands, the first song was the only song I heard. And it stayed like that for about a month until I finally went out and bought the album. I LOVED the first song. It's a great playful way to start off a great playful band's album. And it's what got me to buy the album. As for the rest of the album, I love it even more. Can't wait to finally see these guys live one day.

Clap your hands, say yeah!
I'd rather not.
-
I think the first track is brilliant. I like the sort of preacher thing they have going on at the end of it, going along with the music forcing the listener to dance and have fun.
-
I honestly wish I could find more stuff like that first track. Any ideas?
