Guys, I saw/heard a few strange things today. First, I was flipping channels, and came across a "jackass" style tv show on mtv, and they were playing the NEW PORNOGRAPHERS as background music for like twenty seconds. Then, not five minutes later, I'm flipping through channels and see the Futureheads playing, on cartoon network, for a crowd of little kids. They looked pretty lame. I really have no idea how to respond to this. I may have not cared about the Futureheads, but what the hell is going on here? Any thoughts on this, comments, or accounts of other such things going on? While we're at it, who would we actually want to see on television, and who would we not want on television (besides everyone already on there)? does being well exposed always undermine the quality of an artist's work?

When you put a song to an ad, you've sold out and nobody likes you. Then, after a while you become cool again because of double backlash.
Oooooh gotta see, gotta know right now
What's that riding on your everything?

Am I the only one tired of hearing the song Woman - Wolfmother.
I really like Wolfmother, but I personally feel that's their worst song off of their CD. Yet, I hear that song all over the place. It's on commercials for almost every new T.V. show. Same with the song The Great Escape - We Are Scientists.
-
Yeah, while I don't even like Wolfmother that much, Woman is the only song on their album I would decribe as "Frustratingly vapid"
And lets not forget Pavements appearance on Spaceghost.
"Introducing... The Beatles!"
"SPACE. GHOST. LIVING THE HIGH LIFE!"
God that was great.
Incidently, that Johnny Cash on Sesame Street thing was goddamned bizzare. It had a much happier ending than the original song though, which was nice.

two words: Pancake Mountain.
Ted Leo rocking out for a crowd of four-year-olds, and Ian MacKaye singing about vowels. that's all i really have to say.
-
GWAR on the Joan Rivers show have to take it for me.
-
GG Allin on Springer. Birdsongs of the Mesozoic on Sesame Street.
-
Morningwood on Cartoon Network.
Alice Cooper on the Muppet Show.
-
I actually really like artists appearing on childrens shows
:P
"Don't Take your One's to Town" CLASSIC!

And lets not forget Pavements appearance on Spaceghost.
"Introducing... The Beatles!"
"SPACE. GHOST. LIVING THE HIGH LIFE!"
God that was great.
Didn't Pavement do the Theme song for Space Ghost: Coast to Coast?
I might be amazingly wrong here.
I never expected to hear Grandaddy's "Nature Anthem" in a car commercial.
-
And I never expected to hear Grandaddy in a zombie movie.
Or modest mouse on a car commercial.
Shit happens.
