Who is everyone seeing this fall? My planned shows:
10/2 - The Hold Steady (Baltimore)
10/19 - Wilco (Washington DC)
10/20 - TV on the Radio with Grizzly Bear (Baltimore)
11/6 - The Black Keys (DC)
I was thinking about seeing Okkervil River and Broken Social Scene (again) but I decided to just keep it to four after a concert filled summer.
-
i'm going to college in athens ohio, so i'll mostly be seeing local bands play bars, but i guess the biggest shows i have planned are the blood brothers playing with deerhoof, and matt pond pa.
-
I'm going to try to see Converge at least once on their fall tour, either next month when they're with The Bronx and Mastodon, or later when they go on tour again to promote their new album...also want to see Ignite/Strike Anywhere/Modern Life Is War Sept. 20th, beyond that I have no clue what I might end up taking in.
-
I'm hoping to see Hundred Reasons, the Raconteurs, Jamie T and Placebo.
-
The Melvins, hopefully.
Also, Against Me, the Soviettes, and The Epoxies in November.
-

Since Broken Social Scene finally decided "hey, lets do a concert in florida for once", I'll be making a two hour trip to see them. Why they dont have a show in orlando is beyond me.
-
So Far:
Sep 20: Sufjan Stevens
Sep 22: Architecture In Helsinki
Oct 14: Built To Spill
-
The Decemberists on November 11, with Alasdair Roberts opening. That's all I've got planned, unfortunately.
-
With the announcement of a Wilco tour, I have decided to see them rather than The National.
-
Man Man
Architecture in Helsinki
The Decemberists
MC Chris (maybe)
So far anyways.
-
Ahem.
-
How is AIH supposed to be live? I'm going to see the them/cyhsy/takka takka thing on the 30th.
-
The Who this October. That's my only real concert - I'm saving up my money for a very expensive guitar.
-
Definitely:
Cursive
Say Anything
Wax On Radio
Maybe:
TV On The Radio
Futureheads
Hot Chip
Any comments on the ones I might go to? Namely TV on the Radio. The other two I've seen before and enjoyed heartily, so it's just "do I have money?"

Same for me.

-
Broken Social Scene and Do Make Say Think on November 2nd[/quote]
-
Don't know if I'll be going out of town for any shows this fall, but Iowa City has a pretty good lineup of experimental music lined up.
9/2-Prurient/Air Conditioning collab
9/19-Yellow Swans w/racoo-ooo-oon
9/30-USAisamonster
10/11-Cadaver in Drag/Moth Drakula/Hive Mind
11/17-Charalambides
-
The only one I'm really psyched about is seeing Assemblage 23 @ The Reverb in Toronto on October 28th.
That and on the 29th of the same month, Die Baader Mienhof Gruppe is playing here in London @The Artsproject and will be using the 45 minutes worth of live visuals I created for them as backdrop for their entire set. I'm actually quite nerveous about that one, but excited too.
-
wow, that's pretty impressive man.
i also think i'm going to see the thermals in cleveland september 26th. and i have the qc forums to thank for turning me on to them.
-
I was going to see Sufjan Stevens on September 23rd, but it sold out. I'm going to try and get my DragonForce ticket (September 19th) tomorrow.
-
Rise Against is playing November 7th at the Premier (Seattle). So I'll probably catch that show. Thursday's playing with them... not a big Thursday fan though :-/
MxPx is playing a couple Canada shows in Vancouver, but I'd rather drive down to Seattle and catch them there. No dates posted, but they're a Seattle native band, so I'm sure they'll turn up at the Graceland or something.
I keep hoping The Ataris will come back to town, but it's been a while and they've switched lineups for the 1.2x10^21th time, so it might be a while.
Lucky for Nothing at Studio7, which is always fun.
Not too many Seattle shows are striking me as "must see" unfortunatly. :-/
-
All in Boston:
September 3rd - Sonic Youth
September 9th - The Ambituous Orchestra with Curtis Eller
September 10th - Flaming Lips / Sonic Youth
September 26th - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah / Architecture in Helsinki
October 8th - Islands
-
For sure:
Sept 30: mc chris, The Useless Fucking Derelicts
???????: Some Battle of the Bands at my college
Hopefully:
Sept 22: Grynch, In the Name Of God, Forrestal's Fall, Somewhat Envious
Sept 23: Flogging Molly, Bedouin Soundclash, Zox, The Whitest Kids You Know
Nov 14: The Toasters, The Phenomenauts, The Rhythm Pimps, Sweater Club
Dev 7: Voodoo Glow Skulls, Against All Authority (I know Dec is winter, but I'd really love to go to this)
I really wish I could but I know I can't:
Sept 11: DragonForce, HORSE the band, All That Remains
Saw DF a month or so ago, but I really wanna do it again.
Nothing terrible special this fall, but summer was amazing. Evergrey, Nevermore, Throwdown, In Flames, DragonForce, BTBAM, Everclear, PUSA, and a loooad of local bands that I love all in Eugene. I rarely have the opportunity or finances to travel for shows, otherwise I'd go cross-state every weekend for shows
-
Evergrey, Nevermore, Throwdown, In Flames.
Oh man. I almost went to that show, but the closest showing was 2 1/2 hours away. I love Nevermore, but I haven't seen them live yet, which makes me a sad panda.
-
The Evaporators (Free show!)
Final Fantasy
Rancid with The Aquabats (never really listened to either band, I'm going to be going with some friends)
Bonnie "Prince" Billie
Sufjan Stevens (Hopefully)
The Islands
...And They Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead with The Blood Brothers
-
Bonnie "Prince" Billy
I think I hate you now. I would kill to see Will Oldham live.
-
He's playing three shows, three night in a row. I'm planning on going to the first and the last.
-
My sister got me a ticket to see Tool and Isis at Wembley Arena in November. I have the coolest sister ever.
Also hopefully seeing Dragonforce in December
-
If everything works out, I'll be seeing Daughters and Don Caballero live in november.
Apart from that, there aren't many interesting bands touring Germany right now. They're all busy in the US, I guess.
-
I was going to go to the Converge/Bronx/Mastodon show in Cincinnatti, but instead I'm going to hold out until after that, when Converge headlines with Modern Life Is War and Some Girls...I honestly don't expect there to be a better hardcore show this year...
Blacklisted might be playing this too...
-
I've got my tix for Feist next Saturday followed by The Polyphonic Spree the next day. Sufjan Stevens in October and Islands in November.
-
The concerts I am possibly able to see in September and October:
Pelican
Alexisonfire
The New Pornographers
Amy Milan
Islands (w/ Subtitle)
Final Fantasy
WHAT TO DO GUYS
WHAT TO DO
-
The Evaporators (Free show!)
Final Fantasy
Rancid with The Aquabats (never really listened to either band, I'm going to be going with some friends)
Bonnie "Prince" Billie
Sufjan Stevens (Hopefully)
The Islands
...And They Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead with The Blood Brothers
Aquabats is a really fun show, with all the skanking and what now. I actually lost my glasses when someone elbowed my in the face. But crowd surfing makes up for that. I'm thinking about going to the ATWKUBTOD but I don't really like the Blood Brothers from what I've heard and I don't listen to Trail much...
-
Copeland
Cold War Kids
The Decemberists
hopefully more...
-
Hopefully going to get shitfaced and go to the Spoon concert on the 29th
-
I may have the dates a bit off, but,
Sufjan Stevens - October 9
The Decemberists - October 21
Cursive - October 28
I think M. Ward is in town in October too.
-
Concerts I have seen so far this year:
Mates of State/Deathcab for Cutie
Broken Social Scene
RHCP and Mars Volta.
Jon Crocker
Concerts I wish i could see but cant and am very pissed about it:
Do Make Say Think
Spearhead
Japandi
Concerts I want to see:
Tycho
Cursive
-
October:
Final Fantasy
Vincent Vincent and the Villians
The Young Knives
Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly.
November:
Metric
I am also debating getting tickets for DJ Shadow, but from what I've heard people say about the new LP it's less than stellar :/. Debating Hot Chip/Plan B/We Are Scientists again as well.
*CZ.
-
FYI:
Death Cab for Cutie, Ted Leo, Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, and OK Go are all going on tour together.
Tickets are expensive as ass (at least at MSG), but my slavish devotion to Ted Leo (who is opening, apparently) will compel me to go.
-
I'm anxiously waiting for Village Fair '06 here in good old Bathurst.
Apparently some pretty big name bands are coming (though they havn't released them yet, I live with a coordinator and she told me the ticket price is "Definitely Worth It"
Oh, and no - if you have heard rumours (and know what Village Fair is) Jet is not playing
-
I'm going to go to Farm Aid as well (Dave Matthews, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, etc.).
