Title: The Constantines
Post by: Johnny C on 01 Oct 2006, 16:43
They are a remarkable band. Apparently they're working on some more touring dates. Maybe I can catch them live again soon!

Have you seen them or heard them? What do you think?

If you haven't, I stayed up very late working on this article (http://www.questionablewiki.com/index.php/The_Constantines) in the Quiki! I wound up falling asleep on the couch. Go listen to them, dangit!

The Constantines put on a better show than almost any band I can think of. I love them.

see at the example JC has set you all!

write about your favourite bands in the quiki people!

I am currently working on a Quiki page for Sigur Ros.  Contributions would be greatly appreciated, as I have only profiled the first two albums, and would like to add more detail.

They do really do rock quite hard, I've seen them twice and both times has been great.

The Cons are all sweat and making girlfriends cry and noise. One of only two shows this year where I really wanted a second encore.

I bought Shine A Light for a nickel a while ago and it is mighty rocking, the singer guy reminds me of Springsteen.
I thought it was post-punk beforehand whereas it is more just slightly complex indie rock.

How is it compared with Tournament of Hearts?

Tournament, I would say, is a wildly different record. There's a lot more of the sweat and tightly-wound nerves and communal feel of their live show on it. I'd recommend it more than Shine A Light, personally.
