is anyone else as happy as i am that comedy central picked up scrubs? now weeknights between 7 and 8 are joyous events. this show is one of the funniest sitcoms that ever graced the small screen if you ask me
-
Yeah, not to mention its comedic value, that and all the med students and doctors I know say that its a much more accurate portrayal of a real hospital than E.R. and all those ridiculous shows as well.
-
That post makes me nervous.
I don't think I'll ever go to the hospital again, unless some hott female doctor flashes her boobies at me.
Then I'll make up excuses to go back.
-
Did I ever tell you of the time I hugged Sarah Chalke?
-
Please tell me that her boobs feel as good in real life as I imagine.
GOD I WISH I DIDN'T LIVE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!
-
the show that made internal monologues cool, at least to me
though isn't there already a thread for this?
though it may very well be very, very dead. fuck necromancy
-
There was one back in Dec. 2005, and IndieRawk started one a month ago that got squashed.
This one has had better responses so far.
I MEAN SHANE HUGGED SARAH!!!!
How can you beat that?
-
true, true (forget who sarah is)
does anyone know when the new season starts?
oh and qtown, GO ON AIM SO I CAN TALK TO YOU
-
I'm there.
You're the one not on.
-
So, not being a person who watches scrubs I had to google this "Sarah Chalke" to see what they hype is about. Now my question is, how many times does she take off her shirt in the run of a regular episode!?!?!
-
Often enough! (http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g130/Stegy18/SarahChalke.jpg)
Just enjoy the show!
And veep hugged her!
(girl that may be wearing something not quite SFW)
-
According to epguides.com, it'll be back November 30th. Which would be awesome, because at first it said that it wouldn't be back until January/February, so I'm not really sure what to think. Hoping November 30th, of course.
I recently watched season 4 and 5 after downloading them, and spent the summer watching season 1-3 (and other things, of course), because even though they've aired it here, it's been on at really messed up times, and with no definite pattern, so I only caught one episode here and there.

I mean I didn't get any creepy hands on groping, but yes.

Aha, I love that bit. "Just..look. Before your neck snaps."
-
Shane... You got to hug her?
LUCKY BASTARD.

Wow, I thought you were kidding. That took, like 10 minutes into the first episode...
-
I'm pretty sure she was wearing a shirt for the entirety of the second episode. I'll try one more, best two out of three.
-

LUCKY BASTARD.
It's one of my crowning achievements in life, Odi.

I just thought that I'd let you all know, that when I first saw an episode of scrubs it looked pretty bad, but I am now compulsively watching my way through the first season. I think it's probably because it's a good show, but it could be because there's the possibility of seeing Chalke without her shirt on again...
-
OR the evil tv aliens have coruppted your mind and now YOUR A MINDLESS ZOMBIE!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAHHH :-o :-o :-o :-o
but yeah, we got scrubs here in nz, dunno how far behind we are but we up to when turk and that ladie are married and they going over baby stuff and things...
-
We've had tons of Scrubs threads, but that's ok, because it's just that good. Anywho, yeah it premieres on the 30th, against Grey's Anatomy, ironic eh?? I am also loving the repeats, its on a few other stations at random times too, awesome for my insomnia filled nights. It's one of those rare shows that i can watch the same episode over and over again and still laugh my ass off.
Is it wrong that i think one of the funniest episodes is the one where JD's father dies? Maybe just the fact that Tom Cavanagh sat in a tub full of Budweiser for like 90% of the episode heh, that's just comic gold....
-
Don't forget the toilet with iced Bud!
"I'm there for you brother!"

Actually, one of my favorite exchanges between Truk and JD happens in tht episode.
*Paraphrasing*
"Can Itell you something?"
"Sure man. Anything."
"I kinda feel like your dad dying is gonna get in the way of my diabetes news."
"Oh my God, Just this second I was thinking that you diabetes was gonna get in the way of my dad dying."
Hehe, it's awesome, and it really shows how connected the two characters are that they can be so honest about such an uncomfortable topic. Plus, any episode with Tom Cavanagh is just awesome implicitly.

Not working for me anymore. What gives? =(

Oh fuck, you guys. I just watched the episode where Brendan Fraiser dies.
Makes me cry every goddamned time.
-
"Where do you think we are?"
*tear*
-
It's really awesome how one of the funniest shows ever has a lot of emotional and moral stuff too.
Also:
What if we have a son and he wants to go to dance classes even though all his friends are playing football?
He can dance if he wants to. He can leave his friends behind. Cos his friends don't dance, and if they don't dance then they're no friends of mine!
-

Oh man, I saw that one yesterday. =/ It was on right after the one with the toilet on the roof (my favorite).
-
haha, i LOVE the toliet on roof one!!! "some quality private time"

Those two episodes were some of the first I saw I'm glad I'm not the only one who tears up every time the Brendan Frasier episode comes on. That's one of those times where the super-quick switch from drama to comedy works out. There are some times where it doesn't and it seems contrived, but the former overpowers the latter.
Also, I'm pretty sure now that Scrubs is the launching pad for actors you haven't seen for a while and never knew were really great (Mattew Perry, Brendan Frasier, Michael J. Fox, etc).
-
I really love Scrubs. It's got just the right balance of levity and the emotional moments for it to be more meaningful than an average sitcom but not saccharine or melodramatic. But it couldn't work at all without Zach Braff and the guy who plays Dr. Cox (can't think of his name). Actually, all of the casting of that show is great. And yes, Sarah Chalke is a great piece of eye candy.
-
John C. McGinley.
-
this one still works:
http://tv.peekvid.com/s1882/
every episode, every season :)
-
And the first season of Bones. YES!
-
WOO THURSDAY! WHO'S READY FOR THURSDAY?
-

And Dick van Dyke, though everyone already knew he was awesome. ;)
-
never heard of him, i think... name not sound familiar
-
I spent summer watching the first four seasons on a local channel that mostly airs old re-runs of sitcoms. So summer's given me fond memories of curling up on my couch, mid-afternoon, in my pajamas and watching Scrubs for a couple hours. Really a defining two and a half months for me. (Also, I have a kind-of crush on Dr. Cox but we are mostly just going to not talk about that.)
Can anyone fill me in on what the last season ended off on?
-

"Didn't you learn your lesson after you told him the commissar was in town?"

That's the same way it was for me! minus the nude womanry, that is.
-

Everybody ever is knocked up. Jordan again, Carla on purpose, and JD's girlfriend. TO BE CONTINUED.
Ummmm, I think that's about it. Just a lot of babies.
-
John C. McGinley.
Whose nickname, oddly, is "Johnny C." Coincidence?
I THINK SO.
-
GUYS, NEW EPISODE THIS THRUSDAY
JUBILATIONS!!!!
-
Is so rad. I watched an episode the other day, and what did I hear? the shins. Oh, Zach Braff. Always pimping the shins.
-
I am happy for all the pregnancies last season except for JD and that blond urologist woman.........FADE BACK INTO OBSCURITY ELIZABETH BANKS, JD SHOULD NOT BE HAVING BABIES WITH YOU!!
Gosh.
Anywho, super pumped for thursday!!
-
I think Dr. Cox is my new personal hero. I can only dream of reaching the heights of assholerey he ascends to so effortlessly. I mean, it's like he carries a writing staff inside his head, and all they do all day is launch devastating volleys of insults back and forth before they pick the best ones and shove them out his mouth.
-
GUYS, NEW EPISODE THIS THRUSDAY
JUBILATIONS!!!!
forgive the stupid question, but what network will this be on?
-
NBC if you live in the REAL WORLD.
-
It is Wednesday! One more day!
-
I am pissed off because I am working on Thursday.
-
I love Scrubs. It is one of my favourite shows, without doubt. But somewhere along Season 5 it jumped the fucking shark.
-
I love Scrubs. Except at first I hated it because it was my brothers favourite show and he has rubbish taste in TV shows so I assumed it was crap without even watching it.
Then when I finally watched it I realised how very marvellous it really is.
-
Dr Cox is my hero. I aspire to be that sarcastic and witty.
-
T-Minus Fourteen Hours and Thirty-SixMinutes!!ONEONE11!
-
Myself and Qtown cannae figure this out. Was that Jon Lovitz that he was about to marry in vegas?
-
no clue
did any one else notice that the guy that cox was looking over was cox, the person the janitor was talking to was the janitor, and I think that the woman that JD was talking to was JD
-
um, that was on purpose. you didn't notice the whole 'seeing the patients as themselves' theme?? it's hard to ignore the narration.
Anywho, awesome first episode, carla and elliot grinding with kelso was amazinggggg.
-
Great first episode. It really IS time that "Bye-Bye-Bye" comes back.
-
I knew that it was the seeing yourself in your patients thing, I just wanted to know if any one else got the connection as well
-
Anyone else notice that the guy named Hiro on Heroes is also on Scrubs? He's played a mousy little lab tech in a few episodes here and there.
-
yeah! he was franklin! i was reading an interview with bill lawrence and he's hoping to get him back for a bit part this season, somehow combining his power from Heroes, which would be so funny.
-
Oh man, Franklin is on Heros? God I can't wait for that show to come out over here. Franklin is probably my favorite bit part character on that show.
