What would your campaign song be?
Mine would be Radiohead - Electioneering, or Karma Police
Electioneering has the nice distortion on the guitars though....Karma police would probably be too forward.
-
...Trail of Dead - "Worlds Apart"
Pavement - "Fucking Righteous"
P.J. Harvey - "Who The Fuck?"
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - "Dig My Shit!"
Eels - "Old Shit/New Shit"
-
1812 overture.
-
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again.
OH WAIT.
-
Ballad of a Tragic Hero - Harvey Danger. >_>
-
Alice Cooper ~ "I Wanna Be Elected"
'nuff said. XD
-
The 1812 overature was already used, as Bush's unpublicised campaign song. If only we had known this before the retards in the Christian Right Elected (*coughappointedcough*) him the first time.
-
"Fucking Elect Me, Assholes" - The Rolling Stones
-
!T.O.O.H.! - Rad A Trest (in english, that's Order and Punishment)
Lykathea Aflame - On The Way Home
uneXpect - Feasting Fools
-
TISM - I might be a cunt, but I'm not a fucking cunt.
-
Brakes - "Cheney"
-
Cyndi Lauper - "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
-
Secretions - "Boner".
I'd love to jump onto the stage during the line "i'm the bread...you're the oven...you make my biscuit rise".
-
Eminem - Without Me :D nah, maybe as a parody
Queen - We Are the Champions - nah, too much irony
Fatboy Slim - Joker - nah, music is too sweet
Metallica - Ecstasy of Gold - OK, this theme really should fit.
-
Eels - The Other Shoe
-
McLusky - WhiteLiberalOnWhiteLiberalAction
-
Henry Rollins Band - Liar
-
Rage Against The Machine - BombTrack
-
something by Bad Religon. Either "I Want to Conquer the World", "Change of Ideas", or "You Are (the Government)"
@ Beo: For Rage, I'd probably go with "Take the Power Back" or "Freedom"
-
Some RATM the would be good lol.
If I were running for US President I would use Born in the USA for the irony.
-
If I recall correctly, Reagan already tried to do that, except not for the irony.
Anyway, I have no clue what my campaign song would be. Some GY!BE maybe.
-
Which would make your campaign more boring than Kerry and Gore combined.
-
That was pretty much the point, screw energetic campaign music.
-
Henry Rollins Band - Liar
Okay, this wins the thread. Completely. No contest.
-
what about Tin Soldiers? That would be a good one.
-

I was going to use that joke. :P
Q and Not U - X-Polination
It would add some energy to my campaign, and it has the flexibility of having unintelligible lyrics as well as the opportunity for me to start convulsing rythmically while playing the keyboards during a rally. People would be like "damn, that guy really doesn't give a shit...and where the fuck did he get that flutist?"
-
I would have Beautiful Wang & the Allys following me around to all my campaign stops.
-
something by Bad Religon. Either "I Want to Conquer the World"
That would be a pretty awesome campaign song.
I think it would be funny to go with "Super Rad!" or "Look at Me (I'm a Winner!)" by The Aquabats.
-
Electric Six - Dance Commander
-
The Stooges - I Wanna Be Your Dog
-
"Tin soldiers and Nixon's comming, four dead in Ohio"
You would so get the baby boomer vote with that one...and since babyboomers are like 90% of the voting population...you'd win.
-
you're having a conversation with yourself, aren't you.
Alkaline Trio- You've Got So Far to Go
? Danny's voice is probably the one thing that band has going for it, and this song is pretty good. Whatever.
-
"Murder the Government" by NOFX, of course.
-
? Danny's voice is probably the one thing that band has going for it, and this song is pretty good. Whatever.
I suggest you give The Falcon a listen, as it features both he and Brendan Kelly from Lawrence Arms on vocal duty.
-
"I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News)" - Eagles Of Death Metal
-
Van Halen - Ice Cream Man
-
It could backfire, but using Dylan's 'Masters of War' would be a pretty blatant, angry attack on Bush and the neo-cons, which could get me some votes or alot of backlash.. but it would be pretty fun.
MCR's 'Welcome to the Black Parade' would be great... 'why did you choose to run for president?' 'TO BE THE SAVIOUR OF THE BROKEN, THE BEATEN AND THE DAMNED' 'i... see'
or Springsteen. everyone loves Springsteen. I love Springsteen very much
-
anal cunt
-
Starship - We Built This City On Rock And Roll
-
"Hi-Five City!" by The Aquabats would be a great option, too. I guess what I'm saying is that The Aquabats write excellent campaign songs?
-
I can't believe I didn't fucking think of that.
